Rating: Summary: An incredible revelation of God's limitless love for us! Review: Any review I would provide of this book would diminish its revelation of the beauty, power and grandeur of the story of God's incredible orchestration of time, space and events to provide us a way into relationship with Him. This book is so powerful in the way that it relates God's love for us that I found myself totally awestruck and blubbering shamelessly (in an airplane no less!) as I read of His love for us! Truely an incredible book that you will read like lightening. Get ready to weep, joy, exhalt and worship as you read this book! There is only one other Christian author I have read that can paint a picture with words as Gene Edwards can - of course, John Peretti and the Piercing the Darkness series.
Rating: Summary: The truth of the Divine Romance... Review: Despite not being a fan of "allegorical " or "fictional" storytelling based on biblical truths, I found this book a valiant attempt to put into words a marvelous truth in the Bible. God wants to get married! While I find many readers tend to get stuck in the allegory, some may discover something that they may have never considered before... the Bible is actually a book detailing a divine romance between God and His creation. It is easy to see how the ministry of Witness Lee (titles also available on Amazon) has influenced Gene's understanding of the Bible and contributed to his realization of the divine romance. One warning though, don't get stuck in the allegory-- let this book open your eyes to what may be a fresh perspective to God's plan for His chosen people.
Rating: Summary: Poor writing and just plain silly Review: Disappointed once again by Edwards writings. This highly promoted book by seedsowers publishing was almost juvenile. He had some good points, but the ending was so silly I was embarrassed to have purchased this book. I actually threw it in the trash. The ending seemed to exposed Edwards' subconscious desire for a "raven haired, emerald eyed beauty." According to Gene, that is what all of us Christians are supposed to meld into, a "girl", the bride for Jesus! I do find it interesting that we all turn into this beauty, with the above physical attributes. I was afraid he was going to go into her measurements too! Says alot about what is on his mind, ha ha. I will never waste my money on his books again. Over the years I've noticed Gene Edwards' ego getting bigger from all the self promoting hype over his books. It is pitiful that Jesus Christ is so dishonered by the likes of Edwards & Benny Hinn. But atleast it raised a red flag that not all so called Christians are what they seem. Jesus allows them to be exposed for what they are sooner or later. It is hard to be so disappointed & disillusioned, but for the true lovers of Jesus Christ it is necessary to see the fakery.
Rating: Summary: The book gets to the heart of God & humankind's love affair. Review: Gene Edwards has attempted the impossible: to describe in finite language the infinite love of God and His purpose in creating and redeeming humankind. No one, and I repeat, No one has ever even approached doing this description better than Gene Edwards. Joy and indescribable intimacy permeate these words, as I rejoice in the love of God as I read this book. But it is not a once in a lifetime experience. Over the 10 or more years that I have owned a copy of this book, I have read it multiple times, and it affects me deeply every time I read it. I recommend it to everyone who wants to experience the depth of love a human being can experience with the living God.
Rating: Summary: The Author of Romance Review: Gene Edwards has done an excellent job displaying the amazing love of God for His Bride. God invented romance, and it is a wonderful portrayal of his romantic love for us.
Rating: Summary: Greatest Love Story Ever Told Review: Hi, I loved this book. I read it many many years ago when it first came out. It gave me a deeper revelation of God's love for each of us and it continues to bless me each time I read it. When you desire to fan the flame of your own love for God, read this or reread it if you have not done so for a while. It will help revive that "first love" that is spoken of in Revelation... I recommend this book to all who desire a closer relationship with their heavenly Father. Praise God for this book. It changed my life and continues to bless me each time I read it!
Rating: Summary: In a word -- Life-changing! Review: I first read this book as a 14-year-old, in the summer between my junior high and high school years. I had been a nominal Christian for several years, but had only recently committed my life completely to the Lord. The imagery and emotion conveyed by this masterfully written story started me thinking... though only fiction, I knew, such a story so well written and so closely approaching the truth that I knew instinctively as a boy -- that an infinite God could only love infinitely -- had to have more of a basis in fact that what I was seeing at that moment. So, this fictional book started me on what has been a lifelong quest to find an infinitely loving God, and to return that love in some measure. Though difficult, I wouldn't trade the journey for anything in the world. This is the effect that this book had on me as a 14-year-old. With its epic grandeur its hairbreadth close approach to the truth, and its grandly humorous scenes (the scene in which the Lord condemns Death is priceless), this book is a must read for anyone hungering to know their creator. For those who just love epic love stories-- this is the cream of the crop, focusing on a Love that transcends the physical universe and even Heaven itself, this is the love story to end all love stories! There is something for everyone in this novel. BUY IT! You will be (literally) eternally glad you did!
Rating: Summary: Incredible! Review: I have not been a "reader" but this book turned on so many lights I could not put it down. There remains with me now a feeling that there is so much more to the Christian life that God intended. As good as this book is, I now wonder about exploring the depths of God even further than Gene Edwards takes us. That would be just like God. We know, truly, only in part and see dimly. Read it and find out for yourself. You will not be disappointed!

Rating: Summary: The Greatest Love of All! Review: I have read a number of Mr. Edward's books, but this by far is my favorite. I try to read this book once a year. It makes real creation, Adam and Eve and how much he loves each and every one of us. I am particularly struck by how eloquently he describes God's craftmanship in fashioning woman. We all know how he caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep and extracted one of his ribs. He tells a beautiful story of how women are everything he could ever want if he could have the perfect companion. All of that went into creating who I AM as a woman. This is a must read for anyone interested in stories based solely on books of the bible explained in such a way that you feel like you're actually there. I really loved the part about Adam and Eve being in different parts of the garden and knowing the other one was there but not how or where to find the other. Absolutely awesome!
