Rating: Summary: A roadmap for life Review: I have read this book and started Dr Null's program. Already I have noticed substancial results. I haven't gotten my usual colds, I've lost weight and rashes have dissappeared from my skin. I require less sleep at night and feel much more energetic. It was surprisingly easy for me to give up my coffee, meat and doughnuts. I have substituted a much more varied and tastier diet of vegetables, fruit, grains and fish. I highly recommend this book and program for those who are concerned about their health and youth.
Rating: Summary: A waste of money Review: This is a re-hash of a lot of old data with only one new - and dubious - insight. YOUR HAIR IS THE BEST MEASURE OF YOUR HEALTH, so if you have good hair you have good health... so maybe a 'rug' is a good health investment.. George Burns wore one and he lived to be 100!
Rating: Summary: A thrown together mess. Review: I was very disappointed with this book. For example, he talks about juicing and how he got his hair to grow back again, because of it. He said he used vegetables and fruits that repair your DNA. He said to also take Aloe vera and chlorophyll with the juices. What confuses me is that he doesn't say how much chlorophyll to take or how much aloe vera to take. He doesn't tell you which vegetables and fruits that he used to repair his DNA. He doesn't even mention what to look for in a good aloe vera product. I guess we are supposed to guess which vegetables and fruits we are supposed to use. I thought the purpose of a book such as this is supposed instruct us on how to do such things, especially if it's a program.
Rating: Summary: Disappointing. I bought it for the "program" - there is none Review: I wish I'd had benefit of the reviews before purchasing this book. As others have found, there is no "program" at all and the wealth of material is so poorly organized as to make its reading tedious. Perhaps others are familiar with Dr. Null's writing style and are more forgiving - I can't imagine. If you're considering this book do yourself a favor - go to the store, pick up a copy and read ten pages (any ten pages!). You'll see what I mean! As for myself - I want my money back.
Rating: Summary: A big Null Review: Very disappointing. I think the 5 star reviews must have been written by Gary Null himself. Description of the "program" fills a mere 9 pages. The rest is fluff.
Rating: Summary: Info overload, yet no actual PROGRAM! Review: Gary Null talks over and over in this book about how much more energy people have after drinking vegetable juice regularly. He cites his own case, where he can work "22 hours a day". Gary, I think you need to get some more sleep! This book seems like it was hammered out in two fevered days of talking into a tape recorder, with the majority of the remaining work being done by assistants. There's no real order to any of the topics; he feels free to jump from one item to another, then come back to the first one 50 pages later. I'm EXTREMELY angry because I waited a month for this book to arrive, and I believe in his program -- the problem is that despite the title, there is no program anywhere to be found in this book. Yes, there's a lot of info on vitamins, minerals, fruits, vegetables, etc., but reading this book and expecting someone to really change their life from it is like throwing a Spanish-English dictionary at someone and expecting them to learn Spanish. The book really deserves three stars because there *is* a good deal of information here, but I'm giving it only one star because Dr. Null (sounds like a James Bond villian!) commits the unforgivable sin of making a promise in the title, and not delivering on it. There's not a single meal recipe in here. Not a single juice recipe either. Not even a hint. It really makes me wonder about his motives in writing this book. How can you possibly write a book that spends hundreds of pages talking about how great juicing is, and not include a single juice recipe????? It's absolutely maddening.
Rating: Summary: Life changing experience. Review: This program has changed my life for good. Thank you Mr. Null, thank you, thank you. I have been depressed for many years. I was extremely overweight and I lost my direction in life. Now after two years of being introduced to your program, I am an award winning marathoner. Needless to say I'm in good shape. I found motivation to begin my own business. I am now, thanks to this program, financially independent. Once again I'd like to thank you for your research and by the way, I've grown back a thick head of hair. I believe this was due to the program and my new found happiness which resulted from sticking to your recommendations.I hope that anyone who reads this commentary/review who is searching for deeper meaning and happiness within their lives will find the motivation to study the program. This effort will be well worth their time. Nicholas
Rating: Summary: No Information Review: I was extremely disappointed in the information that was given in this book. There is no program only testimonials. The book did not give any information on how to apply juicing to a diet. If this is so important why isn't there information on how to mix a good juice drink. If dairy is not to be included in the diet why do some of his other books tout milk as a valuable protien drink. For someone who is so enthusiatic and dedicated to his program why wouldn't he want to give people valid examples on how to apply the diet.
Rating: Summary: no definitive protocol given for the program Review: I was very disappointed in the book and am in agreement with the first several reviews. In the authors TV presentations he suggests that the people who followed his protocol had wonderful results. He suggests that the protocol was used by a thousand people but never states how many actually followed the protocol or what that protocol was. One is left to read through the suggestions and references to devise one's own program. In addition, in at least one instance where I have considerable research experience, he argues against fluoridation, one of the most successful public health measures ever and uses several references from one opponent who never did any decent research and ignores massive research from many scientific organizations to support his unfounded criticism.
Rating: Summary: I am curently reading. Review: Well - I just got this book and have started on my journy to ever lasting life, well at least a better life than SMOKING. I discovered this book - Via - PBS channel in Dec 98. They where rallying for Money, and had the same Gary Null show on 4-times in a two week period ( Prime Time ). Hey - In the area - Miami, Fl., not bad - they must know somthing. Well I will keep on reading and report try to report in. Thus far though I am currently with agreement with harsher critics posted on this page. Best Regards to all. Patient-C.
