Rating: Summary: Anne Rice submits willinglyto Amarantha Knight, NO question Review: Great book. I don't like the style of Anne Rice's writting. I find it doesnt flow. Amarantha Knights work on the other hand slides like 2 objects that are exceptionally well greased. Would recommend Dracula, but certainly not Anne Rice's Beauty Series.....theres way too much crying!!
Rating: Summary: If you are a horror/fantasy fan, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! Review: This book (improperly) is listed under the category of "horror." The correct category would be "fetish/pornography." This is a poorly written, unimaginative take-off of the Ann Rice "Beauty" series. It lacks the talent, wit and true understanding of the subject matter displayed by Ann Rice if this is your "thing," and if it is not, you will be even more disappointed. For those not in the know, the subject is B&D (bondage and discipline), a branch of pornography known as "fetishism."As mentioned, it lacks the true talent and understanding of the author it purports to copy. I personally do not care for this type of literature, although I am a firm 1st Amendment advocate. I don't think it should be prohibited; I just don't like cheap rip-offs. Be warned: If you want this sort of book, buy Ann Rice (writing under A. Rocquelaire) - don't waste your time on inferior mimics.
Rating: Summary: for those with truly dark passions Review: This is NOT for the meek. It will definitely put off the weak willed. This type of book is truly only for those who have the darkest passions and wish to see them explored in a fiction format. I think the author was very clever in her approach to the classic story. I do feel that a comparison to Anne Rice isn't appropriate. Rice's work is "vanilla" to this deep dark chocolate; which for many is a delicious treat. I tremendously enjoyed this book.
