Rating: Summary: Thru the Looking Glass Review: Graham Masterton is so talented and so under- rated here in the States. I've read so many of his books and they're all really good and worth checking out. Mirror is creepy and has more than a few parts in it that will leave you very uncomfortable. It gets to you! By the time you finnish reading this book when you walk past mirrors you'll be turning your head, afraid to see what may be looking out at you.
Rating: Summary: Quick! Take down all your mirrors! Review: This book is one of the very few truly chilling books I've read. For me, it rates right up there with the best in horror. Character development is superb. The author creates a cast of people who could, quite literally, live next door to you - you develop an affinity with each member. You may wonder why I use the cinematographic terms... this book really draws you in, like a movie. (I'd cast someone like Ben Stiller as the male lead, and John Leguizamo as his side kick.) I watched this story, more than read it. The storyline doesn't lag once. It's written with pace, and as a commercial writer, I was impressed with the quality of his prose - the dialogue is natural, which is of paramount importance to me when I read novels. I'd love to give away the story but that'd be nasty. Suffice to say, I spend as little time as humanly possible looking in the mirror these days. It's a great read - get it if you can... if you dare.
Rating: Summary: Mirror On the Wall... Review: Who is the scariest writer of all... Even after reading as a many items by Masterton as I have, this was a Chiller in the Extreme. Although it's hard to choose, I'd Rate MIRROR as a scare alongside of Masterton's CHARNEL HOUSE, PARIAH, and THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT. Oddly enough the paperback copy I got had a double cover ( something I was told is rare)... however I'm not sure on that one :-). Anyway, it's a real thrill to experience Masterton's topflight scare books. When He Kicks the fright in, he does so better than most writers, not simply horror in the currently fashionable slash-gore sense, but Horror in the full sense of the "Touched by another realm" type of horror. Highly recommended.
