Summary: The Chase
Review: After trapping Julian in his own shadow world, Jenny hoped that he would never return. What she didn’t count on however, was the game being stolen and the two teenage thieves managing to free the Shadow Man. Now Julian is back and this time he’s angry…

Jenny is offered the chance to play a new game: lambs and monsters. The lambs are Jenny and her friends and they don’t stand a chance against Julian and his shadow creatures, the creeper and the lurker. One by one, Jenny’s friends are being captured and transported to the Shadow World. It is up to Jenny to defeat Julian and rescue Tom, Zach and the others. But the shadow man is determined to win and will go to any lengths to claim Jenny as his prize.

“The Chase” is the second book in the Forbidden Game Trilogy. I absolutely loved #1 “The Hunter” and this one was even better. The story mixes romance, action and suspense and the plot is fast-paced and exciting. The character of Julian is one of the best in any book: he manages to be enigmatic, fascinating and compelling at once and he is essentially what makes this book so special. The other characters are realistic, likeable and well drawn, but it is the Shadow Man who stands out. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to all Forbidden Game fans and any one who liked the author’s other work. To any one who read this and enjoyed it: buy #3 The Hunter, it’s even better.

Summary: Another Great Book
Review: Again, I'm not disappointed in L.J. Smith. She is such a good author. If only she would write MORE three part series. I highly recommend this series. You've GOT to read it. The things that happen in this book are so.....freaky, they give me the shivers every time I read it.

Summary: Not as good as the others
Review: I enjoyed this book, but I didn't like the way you had to wait until half way into it before the game started and Julian came along. He's my favourite character, and I really feel Jenny should have just gone with him! That being said, it's a good book and you HAVE to read it! I've set up a Yahoo! group called THeforbiddenGame to talk about it, so if you like these books as muchh as I do, please join!

Summary: Very much a middle book
Review: Jenny and her friends are dealing with the aftermath of the events of the first book. No one believes them about their friend's death and the paper house is still missing. When they finally find the paper house it is ripped to shreds and they don't know if Julian was released or not. All is soon reveled and they begin a new deadly game where Jenny's friends are disappearing one by one.

This book wasn't nearly as good as the first one. The first half of the book is pretty dull. The action does pick up but it's barley enough to make up for the first half. I did like how we got to know the characters better but I didn't like how little Julian there was. The book kind of struck me as a filler book but I'm sure the last in the series will be much better.

Summary: An Excellent Trilogy, An Excellent Book!
Review: This trilogy does well under the pressure of the standards Ms. Smith has made with her other books. I would have been shocked at anything less from this author. Julian, a Shadow Man from another realm, has been released from the dollhouse once again, and he's coming for Jenny! I agree with most people that she should have gone with Julian, but he did some pretty evil stuff, and maybe she couldn't have lived with herself if she had given into him. I don't think, like some people, that Tom wasn't worthy of her love. He really did love her. So, in other words, either way it would have gone, I would have still liked it. The characters had real feelings, the games are really interesting, and the plot was definitely great. Read it and then read all the rest of her books. You won't be sorry!
