Summary: Good and scary
Review: After reading both books, I was glad to see that the Stephen King I know, love, and have been reading for upwards of twelve years is back.. Gone is the commerciality of previous books. Your imagination has to do some twisting to be able to fully reap the satisfying rewards of this set, but reap you will!! Wonderfully gruesome, expertly written, and marvelously mind twisting. Highly recommended!!

Summary: In the Regulators, King a shadow of the author he was.
Review: First I would like to say that I am a huge Stephen King fan, and have read and enjoyed many of his books. I recently read the Regulators, and hated it. It was confusing, not very original, etc. The story's plot wasn't incredibly impressive, and it was not at all as riveting as some of Stephen King's other books. It was also missing his trademark originality. In short, it was pretty boring, and I would advise someone to read it only if they are very bored.

Summary: Desperation 9, Regulators 7
Review: I have yet to read a King book that wasn't at least worth a trip to the library, but Desperation was truly great. I read it first. The Regulators was o.k., but a little silly. I think King should have told people to read The Regulators first because Desperation is a hard act to follow.

Summary: The Regulators are the mirror of Desperation.
Review: I made a mistake. Frist I read Desperation, and then the Regulators. It must be other vay around. Desperation is very good description of primal evil, and The Regulators are just a mirror of the same evil. Personally, I like Stephen King's books. But the best one I ever read was Insomnia. To write that kind of book one must be really inspired. When you compare Desperation/The Regulators with Insomnia, you will see that those two lose the game. Desperation and The Regulators are describing the battle with outside evil, and Insomnia describes the one who lives in every one of us. I really hope that we will read moore good Stephen King's books

Summary: Good and scary
Review: I really enjoyed Desperation and it was good to see King get back to his horror "roots". I wasn't sure about Regulators at first because, although I knew it somehow tied in to Desperation, I thought it might get too corny. And although it is a tad corny, the way King has created two completely different stories with the same characters is amazing and ingenious. I recommend them both. (Remember Cynthia Smith from Rose Madder?)

Summary: Typical Bone-Chilling King Style
Review: This is one of King`s finest. Kept me on the edge of my seat, not wanting to put it down but yet terrified to turn the page!! I have read everything that King has written, both as himself and as Bachman. Desperation is one of his finest. It is a book to add to the collection of Stephen King treasures!!
