Summary: A Very Nice Vampire Story.
Review: After finishing Chritine Feehans series, I was hoping to find a similiar Vampire series. This book came up on my recommend list so I decide to read it. This is definitely a different variation on the legend. Maggie is a vampire who doesn't wish to be. She kills very seldom and has guilty feeings almost every time. She once love a confederate captain who was killed by a fellow vampire who is obessed with her. This is a story of reincarnation and the power fo true love. Sean Canady falls in love with Maggie and is determined to marry her. Maggie is in love with Sean, but is afraid to show him because of the past. This is a intricately plotted book that requires the reader to pay attention, as there are two story lines going and lots of secondary characters to keep track of. This story also introduces the King of the Vampires, Lucian. An arrogrant, overbearing, and very sexual being. He does have compassion for Maggie and shows Sean how to defeat the evil that hunts Maggie. I look forward to Lucian's story. I will definitely read the rest of the series.

Summary: Loved it to death!
Review: An actual story (in long time) in which the title fits the book. I enjoyed the moment when Sean defeated that evil vamp Aaron Carter (he was the devil! santanic, long before he became a vampire). Loved every minute that Sean and Maggie spent together. This book was just simply amazing. Everything from the exposition in the beginning, to the flasbacks of the past to the present of Maggie Montgomery's life, kept me up all night!

I've always been reluctant to read vampire novels, because i thought they would be filled of all that blood sucking, scare of sunlight mumbo jumbo. However, i decided to make an exception only because the author is Shannan Drake, and i'm glad i did. Other novels i've read from her include Come the Morning, and Conqueror the Night.

Overall, this was an excellent book filled with equal amounts of suspense, romance, and murder! Check it out...if you're not too scared. :)

Summary: Good, but could be better
Review: I have read the first and second part of Drake's series, and the first one (Blood Red Moon) is better. I did appreciate the steamy romance, but was disappointed by the numerous typos. Also, the villain's physical appearance is wrongly described. The first mention of him says that he is dark haired with golden eyes. after that he is said to have blond hair and dark eyes. it did confuse me for a while, and made me believe there were two villains. Also, there are too many secondary unimportant characters, and this muddled the plot. Overall, it was a good read, and I suppose i will read the last installment of the trilogy just to see how it all ends.

Summary: Fascinating Account of a Vampire!
Review: I love vampire stories, and I was hesitant on trying a vampire romance since I had tried one before and I was greatly disapointed by another author, boy am I glad I didn't pass this one up!
Ms. Drake(AKA Heather Graham) does a excellent job telling the story of a 200 year old vampire from New Orleans who doesn't think she can love again and does and what she finds is far beyond her dreams.
The back and forth from present day to past was fascinating and I LOVED it! It was like reading two stories at once and then they meshed. Drama, horror and passion, all rolled into one brilliant novel!

~Maggie is the owner of Magdelena's, a boutique in New Orleans that caters to women who love tailormade dresses and clothes to fit them.
The city of the dead, known for its vampires and voodoo comes under attack from a ruthless killer who seems to be copying a hundred-year-old crime again and still is elusive in capture.
Blood drops lead to the quaint shop and to its mysterious owner and Detective Sean Canady must sort through the clues before another victim turns up, more gruesome than the last.
Does the beautiful woman who owns the shop know the killer? Or is she somehow involved...
In a city rampant with death and the occult, fact is sometimes stranger than fiction...

Summary: Couldn't Put It Down!
Review: I love vampire stories. I am very partial to anything vampire-like and when I found this book, I couldn't resist. The romance between Sean and Maggie is very enduring. At first I wasn't sure what happened to Maggie--did she became a vampire? However, I cannot reveal everything. I also like the reincarnation aspect of the story as well. This is a good vampire book to read and I cannot wait for Drake's next vampire book.

Summary: This was a wonderful read
Review: I loved this book from the very first page. I loved how Shannon kind of had two storys going at once, one about Maggie and one about Magdalena. At first I didn't think they were the same person but I soon figured it out. Every time she started talking about Magdalena I loved it even more because I learned more about how sad she must have been loosing so many of her lovers (I won't tell you who!). I love Vampire books with romance put together it was just to good to be true. I really would recomend this book to ANYONE. I get really sad to see that some people didn't like the book very much and advise you not to listen to thoes weird, messed up people! Thanks for reading my review!

Summary: Pretty good Book
Review: I must admit that I am new to the sub genre of the vampire romance novel. I love the concept but I have just not found many authors that have thrilled me. Ms. Drake has sold me totally on the idea of a sexy, sensual vampire. I automatically pick up Ms. Drake's historic romance books, now I will pick up her Vampire novels as well!

Maggie Montgomery is owns a clothing boutique in the heart of the French Quarter. This is a special store since it has been in her family for generations. There has been a horrid murder in the French Quarter and there are blood drops found outside her backdoor literally. This leads NOPD detective Sean Canady to her doorstep investigating to investigate this beauty in connection to the blood drops found outside. Maggie is stunned and agrees to help in any way possible. Sean is totally drawn to Maggie in a way that he can't understand and begins to pursue the reluctant lady despite the misgivings he has that she is holding something back.

Maggie has secrets that she is not willing to share, she is a vampire. Needless to say Maggie is away of a past that she and Sean (Sean is an old soul as well) share, as well as the return of an enemy that means to destroy all that she has managed to create. She finds herself drawn to Sean and eventually falls in love with him. She still feels bad about keeping a part of her past from the sexy Sean, and her past may have a connection to the murders that are now plaguing the French Quarter. She may know who is performing the frightening "Jack The Ripper" type murders but is unable to prevent them. See the murder may be another vampire. Eventually Maggie must confront not only her past, but love and trust Sean enough to tell him the truth about her in order to help him catch a killer.

This was an incredibly fast paced book, set in one of my favorite places. Ms. Drake created a wonderful set of characters (both main and secondary characters) that really tell their own story. The chemistry between Maggie and Sean is wonderful, and I love Lucian....I can hardly wait until he get to his story! This book held me spell bound and totally changed my outlook on how good a vampire book can be! Do yourself a favor and get this book, full of suspense, and romance!

Summary: Excellent read
Review: I started being a fan of Ms Drake with her book When Darkness Falls. After reading this book, I was anxious to read another one just like it. I went on ... and found this one. This story is the first in this series. It's the story of Maggie. Maggie is a vampire. A good vampire. Who has lived for many years. Now in her town of New Orleans there are murders that look like the work of her old enemy, another vampire. She meets a police detective who is human and falls in love. When his family is in danger and her friends are in danger, they join forces to conquer the evil and somewhere they find a way to make their dreams come true.

Summary: a fast-paced exciting vampire romance
Review: I've never read Shannon Drake before, but if this is any indication of her work, I plan on reading more! I enjoy supernatural romances with some suspense thrown in and this qualified. This was a fast read, I read it at one sitting. The characters were very believable and the book left the reader wanting more. I'm waiting impatiently for the follow-up books in this series.
