Rating: Summary: Welcomed Surprise Review: During a recent air travel "nightmare," I had a long layover after a missed flight, and took the occasion to read H.J. Russel's Camera Shy. With grace and wit, Russel tells the story of a dominant female and her submissive boyfriend. Their sexuality is played out against the larger background of their individual personalities and histories, and the novel deals with a part of the woman's history returning to haunt her, with potentially deadly consequences. The book contains mild dominant/submissive sex scenes which never approach violence. The book also contains many asides about the humorous aspects of power-exchange sexual play, such as not being able to find a critical implement at a critical moment, and its characters are always honest, decent people...except, of course, for the villain. I would recommend Camera Shy to anyone interested in the realities of alternative sexualities, or to someone who just wants a good book to read while waiting for a flight.
