Rating: Summary: Kae Jude: Fearless Vampire Killer. Review: AFTER DARK introduces Kae Jude, a US Marshall specializing in Paranormal Crime, in an alternate America where vampires have become commonplace. As she hunts 'rogues', she too is hunted, by one vampire who wants to kill her and another that wants to love her. It's tough being Kae Jude since she's surrounded by endless murders and gets beaten up left and right, but she takes a knocking and keeps on rocking .... Reads kind of like an X-files novel, fast-paced, cool dialogue; a promising debut.
Rating: Summary: After Dark Review Review: After Dark is a book about vampires and vampire executioners. It is very descriptive and graphic. Not only is it written in first person (so it feels like you are experiencing the experiences of the heroine) it takes you to the exotic locations in the book because of the descriptiveness of the books. The words practically jump off the pages! This book is a must have for people who like reading about vampires, as well as the criminal mind. It is a great suspense thriller. Carol Haytko is definatly an up and coming writer.
Rating: Summary: Laurell K Hamilton rip off Review: I was excited to get this book, as all the reviews on this site were pretty good. But it was a huge waste of money. This is a complete rip off of the Anita Blake series. The woman is a detective/Vampire hunter, vampires are citizens, there's a triangle between Kae and her boyfriend and the "Prince of the City" (Master of the city ripoff). I was so disgusted that I quit reading it after chapter 3. Don't bother with this book, all the Anita Blake books are so much better and 1/2 the price.
Rating: Summary: Good First Start Review: I was excited to read this, since I am local to Lansdale, near where Ms. Haytko lives. I met her at Lansdale Day and was impressed with her. After reading the book, I am excited for her next thriller. I hope she will continue to write. After Dark was an interesting read
Rating: Summary: Laurell K Hamilton rip off Review: The story was okay. There were a lot of editorial mistakes, stff that had she proofread might not have happened. Other than that, and the historical errors, the books story was okay. I have read better and I have read worse. On a positive note, I found the characters captivating and look forward to their development as the series continues.

Rating: Summary: Wonderful Debut Review: This book is a great read for someone who loves paranormal. Although, the historical part could of been researched a bit better, the rest is totally believable. The author has a wonderful imagination and creative use of language. I am sure that Ms. Haytko's next book will be even better. Good Luck
Rating: Summary: Not Bad, but not LK Hamilton Review: This novel is set in Spring Lake NJ. Kae Jude is a US Marshall on a Preternatural task force. A local vampire strip club owner feels that he loved and lost her in a previous life. His nemesis is out to kill her and hurt Latour, the club owner. Kae wants no part of this and has a love life of her own. She just wants to solve a series of homicides in the area. All have been drained of blood and all have the same initials and description as Kae!This is an entertaining novel, though a little too close to the Anita Blake series. The series definitely has possibilities.
