Rating: Summary: REVIEW OF HATSHAKER'S CHIP Review: Hat Shaker's Chip is a fast paced-realy it never slowed down-read. The main character -Everet- is someone I think most young men can identify with. The author put's the reader in no less than a half a dozen world's. I loved every one of them. I read this book in two sitting's. Would have been one but I do have a job. If you want a book that has likable character's and a quite beleiveable near futrure setting............this book may be the one for you. I give it all five stars.
Rating: Summary: REVIEW OF HATSHAKER'S CHIP Review: Jerry Gerold has written a very engrossing book, I didn't want to put it down! Fast paced and thought evoking story of a Virtual Reality game created by the main character that becomes real for the people who enter to play in it. The ending, or should I say endings will make you feel as if you are yourself in a VR game. Your head will spin and your mind will feel as if you're on a roller coaster trying to keep on track of all the plot twists! What's real, what's imagined, that's what you'll ask yourself as you delve into the plot! This is a book, which you may have to read twice to catch all the subtleties, such as how the title of the book got it's name, and how the main character gets and uses his telekinetic powers. Plus a lot of unexpected plot twists that definitely keep the story unique and interesting. It's also a good story line about a long distance computer romance where the main character falls in love with another Virtual Reality player whom he's never seen nor met, how true to life that situation could be today. I was a little disappointed in the ending which is why I only gave it four stars, but then I'm sure that others who read the story will disagree and say it was a perfect ending. Whether you like the ending or not, you'll definitely agree that the writing and pace of the book will keep you wanting to read the story, and that the overall story is very imaginative and entertaining. A terrific first book and I'm anticipating reading the author's next book.
