Rating: Summary: A Real Page Turner! Review: I loved this book and thought it very entertaining. Not only is this a captivating ghost story - it contains mystery, unrequited love, and compassion between friends. I loved Ms. Denison's use of history in telling Stella's story. I couldn't wait to turn the page to find out what would happen next. If you like a good read - I highly recommend this book to you.

Rating: Summary: Wow I loved it! Review: Stella's Search" is a ghost story without the horror and fear that we often associate with that genre. Instead, it tells of a present day deputy sheriff, divorced and determined to make a new life for himself. But there's a very cantankerous ghost in the barn. The only way to get rid of her is to help her solve her problem--find the buried box which has the information that will exhonerate the man she loves. Except that the box contains more than she ever wanted to know. Other elements of the story include a murder, someone leaving town with the money and the journey west in a covered wagon in time for the California gold rush. A great story! It held me every bit of the way.

Rating: Summary: Ghostly fun read! Review: Unlike a lot of ghost stories, Stella's Search is plump with American history. A tale of westward momentum, fevered by the California Gold Rush is told through the eyes of Stella, who lingers in between worlds in order to prove the integrity of the man she loves. The author's choice of flavorful characters combined with an obvious devotion to research makes for a story that will haunt your heart as well as your imagination. Although I am not normally a historical fiction reader, this novel was both story and history. It entertains while teaching and made me want to learn more about the people who moved to California and its effect on the families who survived the wagon trails.
