Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Pretty good alternate Dracula story
Review: A young man in 15th Century Italy is informed that he is the heir of a nobleman in Transylania. Along the way he finds his sire is actually his father, and that he was a mad man who the peasents whispered of black magick. It turns out that he's Dracula, and he has a past longer than Bram Stoker knew of. This is just a pulp book, nothing too heavy. There are a few problems with it, like the three women, the boy's brothers, and the middle was very boring. But it made up for it with a little explanation of Dracula's origins. But more of that in the next book.
