Summary: Immortal Desires Review
Review: The basic premise of this story is a sort of love/hate triangle. It seemed to want to be a romance but with erotica and horror thrown in for good measure.

Here's a loose rundown of the plot as I remember it: Elizabeth is a young woman who is killed by the old, but trying to reform his evil ways vampire Adrien. Adrien inadvertently turns Elizabeth into a vampire but she is taken by another vampire, Mikel. Mikel was turned into a vampire by Adrien and they were once friends who used to torture and kill and make sex books together with other vamp types (etc etc) but Mikel now hates Adrien and wants to use Elizabeth as revenge. Mikel uses Elizabeth as a sort of sex slave and tells her Adrien wants to kill her. Elizabeth escapes and gets into a relationship (such as it is) with a human that helped her. Adrien is in love with Elizabeth and has been looking for her all this time. Adrien finds Elizabeth and they find true love. Mikel catches up with them and Elizabeth kills him. Epilogue, Mikel is still alive and kicking, ready for Act 2.

I am not a great Anne Rice fan, but, inevitably, I can't help but make comparisons. Also I find it hard to beat Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series for romance/erotica/horror. All that aside, this story somehow didn't quite catch my attention enough, although it was readable. Vampire story fans will probably find it worthwhile.

Summary: Immortal Desires Review
Review: This wasn't your typical mushy romance. The female character (Elizabeth), is a very strong woman who must work through the delimma of accepting being something she despises, while at the same time stuggles to suppress those animalistic urges and desires that make up her immortal existence. Upon "awakening" in her immortal state, she finds herself a prisoner of Adrian's(her sire) arch enemy, Mikel. With false promises for her beloved father's safety, she allows herself to be subjected to years of abuse by Mikel whose goal is to use her against Adrian. Although Mikel's lies and deceit cause her to fear and hate Adrian, she's also drawn to him and tormented by confusing dreams of yearning and unsatisfied desires. Unable to withstand Mikel's cruelty any longer, Elizabeth escapes. Bound for America with a mortal man who promises her protection, Elizabeth suddenly finds herself the prey of two men. One of which wants to destroy her, the other wants to possess her; mind, body, and immortal soul. This book is one exciting ride with a lot of twists, turns, and pleasant surprises. Its sure to appeal to anyone who's intrigued by the trials of immortality and touched by the depth of eternal love.

Summary: Immortal Desires
Review: When she is brought across the threshhold of death into immortality, Elizabeth finds herself caught in the midst of a long rivalry between two other vampires, Adrien and Mikel. Frightened by them and appalled by the hungers stirred in her, she flees, only to find that any who dare befriend her become targets of the evil vampire who wants her and possibly of herself if she loses control. Yet, for decades, she is pursued and haunted by her immortal desires until the time of confrontation arrives.

*** Books of this nature are not the norm; most vampire books have a theme of trying to redeem the vampire, usually male, from his shadow world by the love of a mortal woman who will turn him human again or in some rare cases, join him. Having a vampire heroine and one not preoccupied with becoming mortal again is decidedly different. Yet, Elizabeth faces a struggle that even all too ordinary mortals face, the fight to stay herself; in this lies the heart of the story and the lesson. ***
