Summary: This book is worth the read!
Review: I've had access to this book for sometime, and just last week received the hard copy in the mail. I'm very pleased with the look, and feel of the book. But, before even seeing that, just reading the words to the story, made me feel as though I were part of it, and captured my attention from the start. If you're a person who is interested in the dark side, vampires and folklore, this book is definately one you should read. I'm glad I did!

Summary: EXCELLANT
Review: Outstanding read. One that makes me hunger for the continuation of the lives of the characters. As an avid horror reader, Ms. Koehler has captured my attention and earned a spot in the library, hopefully she'll fill the shelf!!!!

Summary: New Girl on the block - Karen Koehler
Review: This may be Karen's first novel, but it has been written with the style and finesse of a seasoned author. Once I had started reading "Slayer" I literally couldn't put it down until I had read it cover to cover, much to the chagrine of my wife.... I eagerly await the next release by this exciting young author... Well done Karen.

Summary: One of the best vampire slaying novels ever written!
Review: What a great read! The vampire slaying story isn't new, but Slayer beats the pack out. It's eerie and romantic, and made me think of the Crow with teeth. At it's center is Alek, a vigilante slayer who turns on his fellows in order to find an ancient relic that can prove the existence of vampires as creatures created for a specific purpose. Unfortunately, the Vatican wants it as well because it implicates them in a mass conspiracy, so no matter where Alek escapes to in the city, the other slayers aren't far behind. The descriptions of the city, the slayers and the sword fights were wild. The characters too were weird. Alek is a kind of Greek tragic hero, neither entirely good nor really evil. He just wants to live, and deal with the bloody lifestyle he has chosen. Amadeus, the book's main nemesis, is this Charon like creature like something out of the worse nightmare of your life. My only complaint were the backflashes that occured after every few chapters, since it was hard to tell what was happening in real time and what was something in the past. Still, it was a great book and I definitely recommend it.
