Rating: Summary: TEASERS-NOT A COMPLETE NOVEL Review: I ordered this as an e-book and was quite disappointed to find it wasn't a complete novel but a short "trailer" for the first in her Shadowhunters series and "teasers" for the second and third book. Don't waste your money - look for the first, second and third "volumes" which contain the entire novels. There are a total, as of now, six books, but be careful where you buy them. Some of the prices are way too high - search out her website and find out where to get the e-books at a lot lower prices.
Rating: Summary: TEASERS-NOT A COMPLETE NOVEL Review: I'm not sure what to think of this book. At no more than 60 pages it's little more than a short story, a teaser. It didn't wholeheartedly engage me, suck me into the characters' world, I was able to get up and leave it without a quam. One might put this down to the 'short story' factor, an intricate, twisting plot, which would have kept glued to my seat would have been a little much for 60 pages worth of story. All of that said, the story did not make me scoff, neither did it cause me to slap palm to forehead and groan aloud in tolerant disgust (as with so many other vampire and romance books). This is a book I would well consider *killing* for to see it in a larger, expanded version, giving greater life to the characters and challenging the reader with a plot that actually makes them think. And right now, what I think, is that I might just lay money down for the next instalment, if for no other reason than to cease being undecided.

Rating: Summary: Enjoyable But Way Too Short! Review: Shai Jordan was celebrating her birthday with her 4 closest friends: the famous movie star Melanie, the fabulously wealthy Vivian, the gorgeous ex-model Erihn, and the mysterious Jennifer when they got onto the topic of Shai's love life, or lack thereof. For the first time, Shai shared her idea of a dream lover - someone who would come to her at night and give her pleasure beyond her wildest dreams. Unbeknownst to her, Shai's dreams were overheard by Valentin, a centuries old master vampire who decided to make all of her dreams come true... But what Valentin didn't know is that Mikhail, another master vampire, had been obsessed with Shai and was simply waiting for her to grow up so that he could play his little games with her. As women who bear a striking resemblance to Shai start dying in horrible ways, Shai is unsure who to trust - her mysterious new lover or the handsome blond man who keeps playing tricks on her? I enjoyed this book and loved Valentin, the vampire lover, but this "book" is very short. This is a short novella at about 90 pages and I felt that I had barely gotten to know the characters when the book was over. Wilder continues her Shai & Valentin's story through other books in the Shadow Dweller series, but all of them are very brief. Be careful how much you pay for these ebooks as they can end up costing you quite a bit more than they are worth. Still, if you can find a good deal on all 6 of them they are fast, fun romantic reads with some paranormal stuff thrown in.
