Rating: Summary: Beautifully dark and haunting Review: "Releasing The Demons" is a nightmarish collection of bizarre and disconcerting short stories, plus it includes dark poetry that takes you to another realm of consciousness. This book brings to the surface a side of humanity that is seldom seen in the light of day. "Her Diary," a short story, is filled with utter despair and regret; it leaves you still curious about the plight of the characters. "Benjamin James" and "Footprints of Fear," both short stories, are drenched with fear of the unknown; these stories make a soul feel uneasy about being alone...in the dark, and completely vulnerable to what's hidden and hungry for a taste of pure, blood-thirsty madness. The poetry speaks loud and clear; the various topics rattle one's usually content thoughts about life. I especially enjoyed reading "Nature's Haze," "Towering Pines Consumed Her," and "Questioning." There is an alternate world out there; it's on the edge of darkness and Sirrus Poe has brought it into the light; this book will haunt you. "Releasing The Demons" is intriguing; it will leave you wondering what will come next from the chilling mind of Sirrus Poe.
