Review: A poignant tale of a mother and daughter coming to terms with themselves and each other. Deftly examines the characters of these women and navigates the complicated relationships that bind families together.

Summary: A CHARMING TALE
Review: Half parts mystery and coming of age tale, this book is destined to be an inspiration for the millions of middle-aged women out there who are tired of reading books about themselves -- written by women half their age! Author Ann Sawyer knows of which she speaks and weaves her magical tale with a keen eye and deft hand. It's funny, it's sad, it's charming, it's suspenseful. What more could you want in a book?!?

Summary: Great book - - - misleading title
Review: What a wonderful read. I did, however, find the title misleading and had I not been "gifted" this book I most likely would never had realized that the contents, rather than that of mysticism, horror and occult, was instead a portrait of family relationships. Perhaps the "Browse for books in: --- horror and occult" should be modified to a more appropriate reference.

While probably more of a "woman"s story, the uncovering, and perhaps more descriptive, the unmasking of hidden, self protecting shell encrusted emotions, serve the male interest as well. The story revolves around a family's loss of a loved one and how, as they deal with their grief, they gain insight into their own personalities. I loved the book and am passing it on to friends.
