Summary: Synopsis
Review: Fictional characters are easy for author Sean MacDonald. He can give them life on his keyboard and take it away just as easily. But Judith is a different story. She was his first sweetheart, tragically taken from him one horrific night thirty years ago- but her ending was never really written.

Now Sean has returned to his hometown, determined to come to terms with his past and his feelings for a woman long dead. But it's hard for Sean to deal with his past when someone- or something- is making his present a living hell. Someone is only too happy to welcome him home, with a whisper of memory, a chilling persistence, and a deadly touch. Soon her will find himself wrestling with a shocking evil that threatens to destroy all he holds dear. As Sean will soon learn, some memories are better left buried.

Review: Horror writer Sean MacDonald comes to regret accepting an invite to return to his hometown for a book signing at the local library. Seems the spirit of his first love is insanely jealous and is possessing and killing any and all that have captured Sean's interest. Beman's story, despite some narrative wooziness (characters fade in and out of focus, events unfold unevenly) that may or may not be intentional (its like a discomforting nightmare), is tight and easy to read. Each chapter ends on a cliffhanger that keeps the urge to turn the pages and find out what happens next strong. The only downside is that the book is more divertingly creepy than out and out scary. Still I'd recommend it to ghost story fans looking for something a little surreal to read over a long, lazy weekend (which is just how I read it).

Review: I am a fan of horror, suspense, but this book just didn't do anything for me. It was poorly written, very hard to follow. The concept was interesting, but this novel goes no where.

Summary: UNIQUE BUT VAGUE ENDING.
Review: Overall I enjoyed this book, but the ending is where I had problems, very vague and it just fizzled out. Maybe I just didn't get what the author was trying to say, and I could see two possible ways the story could end. Not distinct enough. I did like Sean MacDonald and Pamela and I could feel their pain and frustration over the ghost. Donald Beman has a strong writing style and I would definitely read more of his books. Not a perfect book, but still enjoyable.
