Summary: Zombies are definitely where it's at...
Review: If you like excitement and zombies, this book is what you are
looking for. Starts out with zombies right off the bat and then
intertwines some old New Orleans and Haitian voodoo along with
the story.

The things that I liked best about it are:

- Lots of zombies and zombie encounters
- Vivid descriptions of the different areas New Orleans
- Police department involvement in the zombie mystery
- Interesting Haitian voodoo references

All in all, very entertaining!

Summary: An eerie, frightening living dead tale...Simply electrifying
Review: The earth cracks open and a gnarled, rotted hand pushes through the soft, slimy New Orleans soil. The swamp creatures fall silent as a withered arm thrusts up into the fetid air, its bony fingers wriggling like snakes. They watch intently until a partially decomposed head emerges from the forgotten grave. The moonlight gleams off patches of dead-white skull; the empty eyes stare at nothing. With a convulsion, it heaves itself upright, escaping its final resting place. (From the book, "The Living Dead.") Its simply a MUST read; one of which will cause you many a sleepless nights reading. Jeffrey Goddin is a master of this genre and deserves the recognition he has coming to him. All horror fans, please, by all means, this is the book for you. Its definitely a new and exciting take on the living dead concept. Very frightening.
