Summary: Great book of scariness
Review: "AHHHHHHHH!" I screamed one day during Directed Study.
"Katey, please go into the hallway," my teacher yells at me, really ashamed.
I screamed a lot through this entire book!! This is a great book by the wonderful author R.L. Stine. Famously know for writing super scary books. It sends shivers up and down your neck and spine. It's scary like when you see a ghost for the first time. Talk about mysterious, this is the one.
As I just explained this book is really scary! Danielle and her very annoying, little brother Peter, live in a house everyone calls the Forget Me House. Danielle finds that out when a mysterious t.v. reporter comes knocking at their door. He wanted to do a report asking if anything creepy had been going on. Danielle told him no, total lying. Knowing that her brother Peter had been.
My second belief is that hypnotizing isn't real. Most of you know that. But when Danielle tries to hypnotize Peter he really goes into a trance. Addie, Danielle's best friend, says to Peter to forget everything about the hypnotization while he is still out. Soon Peter forgets everything and everything forgets Peter, except Danielle
In this book and in our world there are scary people. Like the gooey, slimy people living in their basement. They always call on Peter to come with them and be forgotten. All of the gooey, slimy people are the real forgotten ones. Peter is almost there, but will Danielle save him?? What about when the forgotten ones start calling in on her??
Even though this is a scary book, it has it very funny parts. The book really gets you tied
in when Danielle screams to Peter, "Die, Monster, die!!!!" You really think that Danielle is trying to kill Peter. And later as you read you come to the part like when Peter drew a picture of his Teddy with glasses on and said, "Well now Teddy can see me better!!!!!!!!!" Their parents just thought that was so adorable!! They took it, got it framed and hung it on the wall. That is how Danielle gets her parents to remember Peter.
All in all, this is a great and an awesome book. It is not one of those when you think of scary you come up with a picture of a ghost killing a guy or something stupid. Hypnotizing had me shocked for a while, but now, no way!! Ha ha! This book doesn't have you rolling on the ground or anything, it just has its moments!!...
