Rating: Summary: Enjoyable, some very original, some could be forgotten Review: Although it was a good read, this anthology wasn't as good as "The Darkest Thirst," Design Image's other anthology. Mostly because it seems too short, perhaps lacking real depth. Also, the editing job for this book COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER! It frustrates me to see a typo or misplaced word every few pages. But the book does have its merits. Some memorable stories include Carter's "The Pale Hill's Side," Marffin's "Bongo Bobbie's Bel Air" (a horrid title, really), and Hendee's "Night and Day." There are also some truly forgettable ones: Reed's "Morbidly Obese" was a chore to get through, Cancilla's "To Die For" attempted to be funny but fell flat, and Markus' "Winding the Clock" was just plain pointless. Overall, a good recommendation for a few stories, just be prepared to yawn while reading the rest.
Rating: Summary: check this book out! Review: Design Image seems to have another damn fine book on their hands in this sophomore effort for Vampire Anthologies. All I have to say, if for no other reason, buy this book for Kyle Marffin's story, it by far outshines the other tales, which is no easy effort mind you. Read this book, then go back, and read The Darkest Thirts, and if you get hooked on Marffin, like I have, get Carmilla: The Return.
