Rating: Summary: GOD HELP US ALL!! Review: "You are about to enter the domain of your inner most fear...don't bother to scream...no one can save you" I first read The Walk In when Mark sent me the manuscript about 3 years ago. I was mesmerized. I encouraged him to get it into print. You will be looking over your shoulder; you just can't hide from the terrifying horror. This work of genius is one of the most fear-provoking novels you will ever encounter. This work is based on an interview Mark did a few years ago .Is it real? Is it true? You will know, believe me you will know for sure! Let's talk about it if you choose. E-mail me randie@cfl.rr.com
Rating: Summary: Certainly A Different Slant On Horror! Review: A compelling book with a mixture of spirituality and unrestrained sexual evil. Although it is not my ideal choice for a good read - Halliday is an exceptional writer that has the ability and talent to keep his audience enthralled to the very last page.
Rating: Summary: SCARED ME TO DEATH!! Review: Although I am a great fan of horror fiction - I was not prepared for "The Walk-In" It left me both gasping, and repulsed - while at the same time unable to put it down. A strange thing occurs to the reader of this book - although you want to get away because certain scenes are very graphic, you find yourself almost mesmerized by the ongoing tension and action. Although this is the first time I have read any of Mr. Halliday's work - I would certainly recommend him to all avid fans of the horror genere. After finishing his book I was left with a feeling that this is the new direction horror - and Mr. Halliday has broken the mould of the norm. I can only hope he continues to enthral, repulse, and excite his readers with his work in the future. What a great writer!!!
Rating: Summary: A MASTER OF MENACE! Review: Compulsive, page turning horror at its finest! Halliday has a knack of not only churning your stomach, but also hypnotizing you with his writing style. His straight to the point, no bull approach is a refreshing change from many of the so called horror novels on the market today. His work is breathtaking. Like a bolt of lightening it hits you from the very first sentence. A True Master Of Menace!!
Rating: Summary: HUGELY ENTERTAINING!! Review: From page one - Mark Halliday captures his reader and squeezes him tightly till the last page. This man is a master of tension and suspense...I was sorry to finish the book...I wanted more...I hope to read more of his work soon. He can count me has his number 1 fan!!
Rating: Summary: NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH!! Review: Halliday scared the hell out of me. Some of the scenes were a little too much for even me a regular horror reader. Even so, he has a talent for making the unbelieveable, believable. Add to this that fact that he bases the story on a true life occurrence and you have a very frightening story indeed. Once you have read Halliday - no other horror novel seems scary
Rating: Summary: Heart Stopping Horror! Review: I read The Walk-In on the recommendation of a friend, and I must say it is nothing like I have ever read before. Although I found some scenes to be a little over the top - and grotesque in the extreme...Halliday has a way with words, and a technique that makes it damn near impossible to put the book down. Quite a few times throughout the story I wanted to just walk away and forget about it - but the plot and characters are so real and intense that I couldn't bring myself to stop turning those pages. Yes it is heart stopping horror - and yes - I would recommend his work to anyone that is prepared to be hooked and wound in like a struggling fish on a line. I have also checked out his new website and found that it enhances the overall experience I had of the book. I have no doubt this will not be the last time I read any of Halliday's work.
Rating: Summary: FAST PACED AND DISTURBING Review: The Walk-In never lets up on the tension, it is a bullet of a book that at times I found very disturbing. Mark Halliday seems to have crossed the bounderies of the norm and given the reader a whole new, in your face approach to horror. I highly reccommend this book to readers of the horror genre but be prepared for a unique page turning excursion into a very seedy world. I look forward to seeing more of Mark Halliday on the shelves. He has my vote!
