Rating: Summary: A promising debut! Review: Although I thought the vampire genre had been done to death (HA), Keith's debut novel THE ETERNAL BATTLE is a new crest on an old wave. In this one you get to watch as vampires attack FORT KNOX, and there's a great vampire vs. werewolf showdown that one normally doesn't get to see. Keith's prose is just gritty enough to hook jaded horror vets like myself, but also mellow enough to satisfy younger "Pre-Buffy" readers. Would've gave it 5 stars, but Keith didn't PROOFREAD it thoroughly enough (sorry, can't help nit-picking). More 'vampiriffic' fiction by up & comers: MINA'S JOURNAL by Kim Zagoren and AFTER DARK by Carol Haytko.
Rating: Summary: A Battle of Epic Proportions Review: Not your typical novel about Good vs. Evil! The characters and plot intrigue and grab hold of you, making it difficut to put the book down. A must read for anyone who enjoys reading about creatures of the night and the horrors they inflict on the world.
Rating: Summary: Loved it! Review: What can I say about this book except that I loved it! Keith Gouveia is an amazing talent and, considering The Eternal Battle is his first book, he can only get better. Let's face it, as a society there isn't much that frightens us anymore, but The Eternal Battle is horror at its finest. Keith uses a simple, terrifying formula -- my friend is now my enemy. The characters in this book spring to life and you fall in love with them. This book is filled with emotion and action and, let's face it, we don't often get to read about a battle between vampires and a werewolf. The Eternal Battle is an excellent read and a must!
Rating: Summary: A Battle of Epic Proportions Review: When Mike's wife is reborn as a vampire she attacks her husband in an attempt to make him her slave for an eternity. Instead she accidentally curses him. When Julie attacks Mike in the shape of a wolf by the light of the full moon Mike is cursed to become a werewolf. With the powers of the wolf Mike is able to combat the rising horde of vampires, but the beast isn't easily controlled. Mike is forced to come to terms with the fact that if he should ever be free he must kill the woman he loves, but that's not the only obstacle Mike must overcome. Things take a horrible turn... The Eternal Battle is filled with Human Drama and that's what makes this book terrifying. Join Mike Caisse as his life is turned into a living nightmare. Also recommended for the Vampire fan They Thirst by Robert McCammon and for the werewolf fan The Wolf's Hour.
