Rating: Summary: I loved it!! Review: Now, maybe it's the Nyquil, Sudafed and Vapor-Rub talking, but I am about to not only gush, but also rave. With Hollywood abounding with blood, I have craved an anemic ghost story. Simple, subtle and deliciously terrifying, Davis has sliced into Horror and into my heart! More reminiscent of Tales from the Darkside and Twilight Zone, the author creates a world of demented irony. Since the back cover blurb grants you a thorough peak at the stories, I'm just going to get right down to it. The plot in the stories are assorted and mouthwatering. Having the attention span of a fish, it's hard for me to stay interested in collections. Not only was I completely immersed in the book, but I found myself whispering, "Just one more story and then bed." Needless to say, I read the book in one day. Although the atmosphere morphs with each story, there remains an air of delirium. Moving through the book, the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end and you constantly echo with the sense that something is wrong here. Davis's style of writing is comprehensive, lucid and impressive. Performing the ultimate trick, he pens stories that are both fun and frightening without needing to slap you in the face with dramatized gore. The pace is loyal to the story, bringing you along without giving the feel that the ride is short and you need to hurry. The characters are authentic and realistic, making it easy to identify with them. Davis concocts players that you can find in any city or suburb, making this world of his all the more terrifying. I loved it!! Buy this book, Now!
