Rating: Summary: Ends with a bang and a big surprise! Review: Ann Yang, a county medical examine, tracks and confronts a killer who claims to have killed her before--in other lifetimes. While Ann is investigating a series of brutal killings in an upscale suburb, she finds an old journal in her home containing intimate details of a murder that took place on the grounds over 100 years before. Meanwhile, she becomes involved with the handsome carpenter remodeling her home--even though she suspects he could be the killer. I loved the language play and surprises in this book, and the ending does the erotic, suspenseful tale justice. I loved it!
Rating: Summary: Dead On Review: Dead On is an excellent read that will take you through many character's lives and somehow, Ann Kelly brings them all together like a wrapped package. Her writing style is somewhat of a less gory James Patterson. The setting for this novel makes you want to go to Bucks County, PA and check out all the true to life landmarks. This is not a book that you will give away, since you'll want to read it again, just in case you missed something! Well done, Ann Kelly. I'll be waiting for a new release!!
Rating: Summary: Intersting...yet disturbing Review: I thought that this book took alote of imagination to write,(I hope). I was very shocked by the ending and the combination of true crime and beliefs of past life was a great idea. I very enjoyed it very much and I will look for more books by Anne Kelley.
Rating: Summary: Move Over, Stephen King... Review: If there was an option to give this book 10 stars (on a 5-star scale), I would. Kind of like having a volume setting of "11" on an amplifier, Ann Kelly's writing is just like her book's apt title, DEAD ON. With this effort, she joins the likes of Stephen King and Peter Straub, adding suspense and some erotic spice from--finally--an intelligent female perspective. Then, as if there was not already enough icing on this cake, Philadelphia-based author Kelly presents us with a truly unique plot line involving a most unusual "serial" killer--one that chases his victims through different eras and lifetimes to stalk his re-incarnated prey. A truly fascinating read that will easily translate to the big screen (M. Night Shyamalan, ARE YOU LISTENING?)!
Rating: Summary: From PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, October 30, 2004, by Ira Josephs Review: Kat Martin, a New York Times best-selling romance novelist, is one of [Kelly's] biggest fans.
"She's a brilliant writer," Martin said in a phone interview from her home in Montana. "No questions asked. She has a gift for the eerie. The words she chooses are absolutely brilliant. She has an incredible talent for stringing words together."
Rating: Summary: A remarkable book Review: This is a smartly executed suspense novel with fascinating characters. The past-life-regression element used in the book adds intrigue and it's fascinating to read as the story tacks back and forth between the present and the early 1900s as a county medical examiner is stalked by a killer who claims to have killed her before--in other lifetimes.
Ann Yang, the medical examiner from Bucks County, PA, is edgy, intelligent, yet emotionally stifled. There is unique use of language, the pace moves briskly, and the dialogue seems very realistic. The book raises a myriad of questions and issues, most interesting to me, issues of female desire, love, and obsession. I haven't read anything like it.
Rating: Summary: Just could not put it down! Review: What a great book! The suspense was outstanding and the characters were very good. Especially good was the ending of the book. Lots of good books have a disappointing ending. This most certainly did not. The villain was very scary and you did not suspect how it would turn out. Hopefully, this book will become a movie!!!
