Summary: One of My Favorite John Saul Books
Review: a hundred years ago, a servant was invited to a ball by a rich
society man as a joke. on the night of the balls she dies horribly and is left to haunt the living 100 years later. now
another girl comes to live in the same house and is taken over
by the dead servant girls ghost to reenact a crime and to get
revenge on the snooty rich society that does not change from century to century in it's cruelty, they just get new names and
faces.

Summary: Good Book
Review: I have just recently started reading Saul's books. I read a lot of King and Koontz but have decided to give Saul a try. So far it has proven to be a good idea. I like his style of writing and I also like the way he ends his books. He kind of leaves them hanging instead of having the typical happy, everybody wins endings that most authors use. This book was good. It is only the second John Saul book that I have read so I don't have much to compare it to as far as his writing goes. It is an easy read and I recommend it.

Summary: Great!
Review: I loved this book! It starts out great and doesn't stop there. Although it does have some supernatural twists to it, the book is more of a "good guy gets screwed by bad guy" type of novel. Unfortunatley, as one reviewer commented, it does leave some wondering to the imagination at the conclusion. However, as with any book, most are left to wonder, and I still think this is one of (if not the best) Saul novel to date.

Summary: At least not bad, and definitely it's worth reading.
Review: It's great and I enjoyed every minute of reading it. Saul gets right into your soul and reveals all fears, thoughts and features which accompanied you when you were a teenager. Characters and locations are well-described, and they make you believe you are there also because you feel anger rising inside, and warmth of father's love, and despair of a girl, and a lot of other things so skilfully written.

It was my first book by John Saul; after reading it I've ordered two more. I like his style. I believe neither you nor I will be disappointed if we read other Saul's books.

Summary: No Need to Be afraid of the dark
Review: Not a bad story but if you're expecting something to scare you to the point where you'll sleep w/the lights on, then this isn't the book for you. All in all, it's a quick and easy read and it most certainly kept me interested - you'll fall in love w/Melissa and come to feel sorry for her.

Summary: The novel scared me out of my witts. I've been so afraid.
Review: Second Child by John Saul was the most chilling book I've ever read. It kept my attention and wouldn't let go. This was writting at its best. Phylis was the very personification of the overbearing mother. I felt sorry for Melissa throughout the whole novel, and Terry got what she deserved at the end. I loved it, and my friends loved it too. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Second Child was the first book I had ever read by John Saul and I will have to admit it is my favorite. John Saul is a talented and gifted writer and I hope he will keep writing books as great as this one.

It's my favorite book of all time, I have read it 3 times, and am planning to read it again, you just get so attached to the characters, especially Melissa, that you want to hear about them again and again.
