Rating: Summary: A simple allegory Review: ... If you are open minded about spiritual principles, this book will probably appeal to you.Pike made his name (as we all know) by writing teenage hack-and-slash horror. And it was ok, but never fabulous. When I came across Sati at the library one day, I expected more of the same. What I got, however, was a book that I found to be deeply spiritual and achingly lovely. Since then, I have loaned the book to many friends, bought copies for others, and read it aloud to my boyfriend on a road trip. This is the kind of book you just want to share. Sati is a young woman who claims to be God, and she comes to earth with a simple message. We exist to increase her joy, which is already infinite. Is Sati god? Or isn't she? I don't know, but I wish she weren't fiction.
Rating: Summary: After Thoughts Review: Awesome story! Easy reading and exciting story. I actually thought the story was real. What really caught my attention was that I was looking for something to describe to myself, how to become closer to God, or rather how to find Him within myself to be a true christian, so that not only I can help my teenage children but myself especially. I came across this book and I was hooked on it, within 24 hours, I'd read it and wanted to know if this story did actually happened. The contents of the story is full-on and helped me a lot, I even went as far as telling the story to my mother-in-law. She liked and was amazed at the contents of the story, but she wasn't convinced it was true, only because she knows that no one can never see God in person (as mentioned in the bible in the book of Exodus). Anyway, she loves the story and approved of everything which was told and written in this lovely story. For me personally, I was convinced it was real, I mean the characters. It wasn't until I looked it up on the net, that I realised, it was a fiction, but fiction or non-fiction, this is a great story. It really helped me strengthen my belief in God and helped explained what I needed to know about the inner-self. I think more stories like this would do a lot of good to our world and give people an opportunity to search for that missing piece of their lives. If it helps a skeptical person like me to seek deeper into the unknown of my inner-self, then I'm sure it will help many more skeptical and non-believers of God out there in this world.
Rating: Summary: Amazing Review: Christopher Pike has always had a wonderful and unique way of writing all his books. Every single one is different in their styles. Sati is a wonderful book about a young lady who is picked up by a trucker on the highway and is brought home to stay with. She is mysterious and comes with no possessions except the cloths that she wears and the shoes on her feet. She also makes a startling announcement. That she is God. Throughout the book she manages to do wonderful things with the people she comes in contact with A very wonderful story that everyone must read.
Rating: Summary: Christpher Pike's Sati broadens the mind and soul. Review: Christopher Pike has truly shown the gifted author that he is with this adult book Sati. Being a Christopher Pike fan for over 7 years now, I have read everything he has ever written. Nothing has ever moved me the way that this novel does. From the beggining of the novel, where you become suspicious of the unknown girl to the end where you close the book and can't stop thinking about her, Christopher Pike moves you through Sati's experience on earth with the most interesting of character development and dialouge. His devotion to detail is always what brings me back for more. I also always enjoy the fact that Mr. Pike doesen't just tell a story, he gives you new ideas. I found myself coming a way from the book and questioning the way I look at the world and how I see my faith. Never have I found a book as refreshing to the mind and soul as Christopher Pike's Sati.
Rating: Summary: Where To Begin.... Review: Enthralling and captivating, you wont be able to put this book down. Unlike the Mr. Pikes other adult books, Sati takes on an entirely new perspective...one dealing with hope, love, life and happiness. Even if you don't believe in God or any other religion for that matter...this book is for you, for Sati will teach anyone who reads this book the true reason for living... Sati is remarkable and I can't agree more with Michael in saying that even if Sati isn't God...she is definatly what God should be like. And I for one, never really believed in a God or spiritual sorce until I read this book. I couldn't put this book down..but if you are unlike me and don't find this book exciting, you might want to have a bit of patients. But I would recommend it for anyone 13 years or older..boy or girl. 'You won't be the same once you meet her' *Teanna* 14 year old reader
Rating: Summary: After Thoughts Review: I find it difficult to summarise how amazing a book this is. Compared to all the spiritual books these days, recent and past this book is on a league of its own. There is only one book in this league. It does not preach, does not lecture but subtly provides guidance, inspiration and happiness in a way no other book, I have read does. It really can be a vehicle for change. Forget the rest, this is easily the best, by far.
Rating: Summary: Still my favorite book. Review: I first read this book when I was in 8th grade. I'm 26 now, so granted that was some time ago.. but over the years, I cannot begin to count all of the times I have read and re-read this book.
It's a fantastic and well-written novel that I think everyone should read; it's enlightening, and it's one of those books that once you pick it up, you just can't put it down until you're finished.
Read this book, if it's the only book you EVER read. Then you'll understand why I'm so over-the-top about it.
Rating: Summary: ONLY BOOK I WOULD RECOMMEND Review: I have read many spiritual/philosophical books in my life. This is easily the only one I would recommend completely. It touched me in a way none have ever.It is a enjoyable read, a book of real wisdom and one that affects by what is not said but is clearly there.Probably not well known as it is under the children section and few children would grasp the depth , meaning and beauty of its words. If placed in the right section it would be a huge bestseller. It has everything and more.
Rating: Summary: Yes, life changing. Review: If you read only one book, read Sati. Read it with a completely open heart and mind. Listen to it. Understand it. I wish I could afford to buy Sati in great big boxes and hand it out to people. I want the whole world to read it and understand it. I want it to be in every language. I want to learn languages so I can translate it. Please. Read it. And if you read two books, read Sati and then Anthem, by Ayn Rand.
