Summary: Great introduction to God's grace!
Review: I am normally not very fond of those books which dissects the great truth of Bible into story telling and 1-2-3 steps to heaven checklist. I prefer Christian books which provoke people to think and to reflect deeper about the reality of the biblical faith, like those works from Philips Yancey and C.S. Lewis.

This one is an exception. I have never read any book by Max Lucado before. But I definitely will read more after finishing this book. The way he takes the book of Romans and introduces this most profound book about truth to people thru engaging story-telling is simply amazing. I would call this book the modern day introduction to God's grace. Highly recommended, especially good for explaining God's love and salvation plan to people who haven't yet trusted their lifes to Jesus Christ. You would also want to read Philips Yancey's What's So Amazing About Grace after you are done with this one to get a better understanding about God's grace and how to apply it on this fallen planet.

Summary: Put down the rock and take My hand!
Review: I have been a Christian over thirty years; but in recent months, I have really struggled with my Christianity. Occasionally, I catch myself stacking rocks as the third brother in "The Parable of the River;" and I need a reminder of God's unfathomable love. In the Grip of Grace is that type of reminder. Emotionally gripping, Lucado's easy-flowing style guides the reader through the best and thankfully, most entertaining commentary on the book of Romans I have ever read. The introduction to the endearing Billie Jack was worth the price of the book! In the Grip of Grace is the literary equivalent of hot tea on a cold day; and I would definitely recommend it to both Christians and non-Christians.

Summary: Changed my life...
Review: I have been a church goer my whole life and just went with the flow, never really in touch with God...until I read this book. I read it, and it turned me right around. This book will make you embrace the grace of an awesome God. If your life is off track this book will show you what is being offered to you, and if you've already accepted your forgiveness, this book will make you smile when you think of what an awesome God you serve. I love this book because it shows me how much God truly loves me and it sparked me into reading my bible daily and leading a different life. I love the joy that this book portrays that we Christians need to remember and embrace daily.

Summary: Each of his books has the same message -- God loves us!
Review: I have gotten all of Mr Lucado's books and thoroughly love each of them. Most of them I read more than once or twice. The only problem I have with his books is this -- just about the time I am really enjoying the book and am wrapped up in it completely -- it ends. His books could be much, much longer -- and I would not complain one bit!

Summary: Edifying
Review: I have read several books of Lucado but this one definitely made a remarkable impression in my life concerning the unwavering grace of God. I remember him saying in his book, that contentment is being peaceful even if we have nothing other than the saving grace of God. This strikes my heart and help me reconcile alot of unresolved issues in my life. Praise be to God for God-fearing writters like Max Lucado.

Summary: awesome read and great gift
Review: I have received this book twice as a gift. I have also given to 3 people. With clarity and power Max Lucado gives readers the bottom line of Christianity: we are sinners and Christ is our Saviour. This book provides a catalyst for peace and joy in the hearts of believers.

Summary: Very Thought Provoking
Review: I love the parable that he started off with in this book. He applied this parable to the first few chapters of Romans. I think we can all see a little of how we may be perceiving God's grace, in the wrong way by reading this book. There are some great topics discussed in this book. This was my first book to read by Max Lucado and you can bet I'll be reading more of his books.

Summary: Freedom and relaxation in Christ
Review: I struggle with being good enough to please God. This book reminds me that nothing I do will be good enough. It is so humbling to realize my helplessnes. It is my job to relax and rest in what He has already done on the cross and is doing in my life. This is what brings joy.

Summary: This is an excellent book.
Review: I used it as reference to do a program at church on Grace along with Philip Yancy's "What's So Amazing About Grace." It provided the best resource material I've ever read on the subject, and everyone loved this topic. We all gained considerable information from Mr. Lucado's book.
