Rating: Summary: I've read it 3 times... Review: ...and everytime I've received a blessing from it. Each time that I read it, there was a part of the book that really helped me in the phase of life that I was going through. The first time I read it, I was a new Christian and it helped me grow. The second time I picked it up several years later I was a backslider trying to come back to the Lord and the book truly helped me get over my feelings of unworthiness because of my backslidding. I was assured that God's grace would still cover me. The third time I read it was not too long ago, my fiance and I read it through together and it really helped us get a solid foundation to our relationship. It opened the doors of communication for us for many spiritual topics - doors that have remained open since. I recommend it for anyone who is leaning towards becoming a Christian, or to the Christian no matter what phase of life you're at. Buy it, read it, put it on the bookshelf, but never forget about it. Pick it up and read it again!

The book is basically a commentary on Romans 9-11, although you wouldn't know it by the style of writing.Touching...would make a nice gift to a non believer or struggling believer. Kevin Newby

Rating: Summary: The book does not provide the entire salvation story Review: Eph 2:8 makes it very clear that we are saved by grace through faith. Max does a nice job on the grace part, which is God's part, but completely ignores the faith part, which is man's part. Man's part, faith, as Hebrews 11 and James 2 easily show, is much more than mentally accepting Jesus as the Son of God and as a personal saviour. I truely hope Max has a sequel in the works so precious souls well not feel safe in the salvation he has shown them in In the Grip of Grace.
Rating: Summary: This book about grace really gripped me! Review: Everyday situations that were used to illustrate one moment that changed not only man's history but his eternity as well -- Max Lucado's description of the grace of God was so clear in this book as he uses earthly things to explain heavenly ones. This is one book every Christian should read to be reminded that we cannot really fall beyond His love.
Rating: Summary: SUCH WONDERFUL GRACE Review: God died for us all and by His Grace we are saved. This is one of the best books that I've read by Mr. Lucado and is based on the book of Romans. Mr. Lucado is knowledgeable and such an excellent teacher, I try to share most of his books with my friends. In The Grip Of Grace, he reminds us of the extent of God's love towards us. The extent that God will go to, proving his love for us. No psychologist, hypnotherapist, doctor, sweet talker can reach deep down into the pits of our souls and renew us with that sweet and wonderful gift of Grace. This gift that God so willingly offers to this suffering world as we reach out to him burdened with sin. Thank you Mr. Lucado, this book has changed my way of thinking and it will certainly be read by lots of my friends. reviewed by Heather Marshall.
