Rating: Summary: Touches all parts of one's heart; fear, hate, and even love Review: The Last Vampire Series is one of the best Pike has ever written. I have read all his books and all of them are written superbly. Pike has a special talent of drawing you into his world and letting you experience each and everyone of his characters and their emotions. His novels move along swiftly like a movie bringing you one experience to another. Pike is definitely one of those authors that just gets a grip at your mind and never lets you go.
Rating: Summary: Pike's very best Review: A story told by an ancient vampire, Alisa, (who also happens to be a beautiful blonde bombshell) this book is absolutely riveting. I know I could not put the book down, I had to finish it in one setting and have now read the rest in the series. Never has there been such a unique or oddly realistic seeming story of horror. Alisa is one of the best characters I've ever read, certainly the best that Pike has ever created. It was so fun to read about how an ancient vampire interacts in a modern day highschool, and you begin to feel almost as invincible as Alisa seemingly is. But this is no Buffy the Vampire Slayer type of thing here, this story interwines very spiritual aspects of life and goes very deep into who Alisa really is. A very satisfying book, I'd highly recommend reading it.
Rating: Summary: Pike at his best Review: Pike really displays his writing talent in his series "The Last Vampire". This edition has the first three volumes of this six volume series. This great tale of the last vampire who has lived hundreds of years and her vow never to make another like her was thrilling and captivating. Not only does she find out she is not the last but you has to fight a more powerful vampire. I couldn't put the book down. I loved how she won the friendship and love of the high school teens. This is a great perspective on how a vampire might be like. It is different from the old tales that everybody has heard. That was great addition to this book. Pike was truely at his best in my opinion when he wrote this wonderful book.

Rating: Summary: This book brought Sita to life Review: I knew Sita. I was Sita. After reading this series (vol 1 and 2) I felt that Pike was born to write about Sita and still wonder if he has stories stored away in his drawers about Sita. I loved Sita and miss her dearly. I have read these books over and over again; time and time again. I'm 25 now and have moved on to some of Pike's adult novels, but this one still brings me back, and I hear Sita's voice speaking directly to me from whereever she is. Thank you Pike, for this series and also for "Remember me" and "The Starlight Crystal". You have inspired me.

Rating: Summary: Everyone will LOVE this book!!! Review: Pike's vampire series is most definitely his best work, and one of the few that he wrote in first person. The first volume includes The Last Vampire, The Last Vampire 2; Black Blood, and The Last Vampire 3; Red Dice. The Last Vampire- Sita, aka Alisa Perne, befriends a boy at her new school, Ray Riley. He is the son of the P.I., Michael Riley, whom she has just killed because he knew too much information about her. Alisa's intent is to use Ray to erase his father's files, yet unwittingly, she falls in love with him. At the same time, she also befriends a high school student, Seymour, who is dying of AIDS, and she is also running for her life because her ancient nemesis, Yaksha, is trying to track her down, so that he can kill her and himself, in order to fulfill his promise to Krishna. Yaksha is the very first vampire. Sita was only seven-years-old when she witnessed her father deliver him from the corpse of her friend Amba. About thirteen years later, Yaksha came to her with an ultimatum, either she join him, and become a vampire, or die with her husband and child. Ever since that night, her life, all 5,000 years of it, has never been the same. The Last Vampire 2; Black Blood- Yaksha is supposedly dead, yet there are new vampires that are after humanity. Sita believes that someone must have gotten ahold of Yaksha's corpse, and is using his blood to create a new generation of monsters. The suspect is Eddie, a pimply loner who lives with his mother and dreams of world domination. He is a disgusting, looney, yet somewhat sad character whom Alisa figures was the nerd in his high school. His dream date is taking a girl to McDonalds, then to the graveyard, then home to watch snuff films. Then, he'll tie them up in the closet and force them to suck on popsicles. He also formerly worked at a morgue where he would occasionally like to play with one particular corpse, Yaksha's. It is Sita's job to destroy his army, and then him, or humanity beware. The Last Vampire 3; Black Blood- Sita and her new friend Joel, a cop, whom she has turned into a vampire, are on the run from those who have found out their identities. I don't really remember this book, but I think they end up in Las Vegas, where Sita encounters a friend from the past. This is wonderfully written, and Sita is the kind of character one can sympathize with, though she is inhuman and does unthinkable things.
Rating: Summary: By far the best series of books I've ever read... Review: I've read all six of the Last Vampire books about 15 times each and they always have the same impact on me. Christopher Pike explored new grounds when he wrote these books. Sita, the main character, a 5,000 year old vampire is the most creative character I can think of. She is both merciless and humane. She loves deeply, but she must kill to survive. One thing that's very interesting about these books is the use of Krishna, who in Hinduism is god. Christopher Pike put a hint of religion and mysticism in these stories. If you don't read these you are truly missing a wonderful and moving group of stories. I recommend these to anyone and everyone who enjoys facscinating and moving books. A++++++. Go out and buy all 6!!!!!
