Summary: Terrible Ending... Chose a better book!
Review: "The Beasties" was fairly well done but with some serious unrealism thrown in. First off was how the little sister who was 10 years old kept getting the brother to do things like explore the cave with her and stuff. I think from very early on the older brother would have used simple brute force against his sister instead of letting her get him involved with the creatures. The ending was absolutely terrible. The older brother became so attached to the creatures in about one or two days even though the warnings he was given and the hate he had for them from the previous few days. I suggest that you read a different book. It might be worth the few hours it takes some people to read it but others will feel that they have done nothing but waste their time.

Summary: AN EXCELENT BOOK TO GIVE YOU CHILLS THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT!!!!
Review: An excelent book. It kept me in suspense from beginning to end. I looooooved it! Although I'm 13 I still check in the closet and under the bed now because of the Beasties. Willam Sleator is an imaginative author who knows how to give the reade quite a scare and still touch the readers heart at the same time. In 3 words, A GREAT BOOK!!!!!

Summary: Beasties
Review: Beasties was a very well writen book that flowed in chronological order. It has very good description allowing you to visualize everything in your mind. I think the characters' actions and thoughts were very close to real life even if the story itself wasn't. It was a very interestig and unique book.

As well writen and interesting as this book was I did not like the ending and nor did the other people I know who have read it.

I think the moral of this story is that destroying nature may have unknown affects. I would recomend the book however the ending was disapointing.

Summary: The Beasties
Review: I couldn't put the book down. The book I have read is The Beasties, by William Sleator. He describes the charicters really well. The book was really good until I got to the ending, it was very hard to put the book but when I got to the ending it was very blah! It just ended I don't want to say how it ended because I know I hate it when somebody gives me the ending when I didn't want to know what it was. So all I can tell you is that the ending is very Blah! But if you like blah endings that just end when you least expect it this book is for you!

Summary: The Beasties
Review: I couldn't put this book down. The book I read was The Beasties written by William Sleator. I loved the way Sleator described the Beasties. Doug, being in 10th grade thought he was the brave one, but then he found out Colette wasn't afraid of the dark. The Beasties, or so called "family" live underground and are very unique. If you like creatures that crawl under the ground and have queens then I suggest this book. The only thing I didn't like about the book was the ending. Sleator gave you the ending one would expect. Some of the book was predictable. Being predictable was the only downside to this book. There are really only about three parts in the book that are predictable. In conclusion to this, I think this book was one of the best. Hearing that some of his books weren't as fulfiling as The Beasties I believe that this book was one of his best. If you love books with adventure and funny things around the corner, I would suggest this book to you.

Summary: The Beasties Review
Review: I didn't like the book because it had to many small words and I couldn't read it, and it was kind of boring for like the first five chapters, also it was kind of dumb because it doesn't make sence.
The best part was when the guy told a story about his uncle and how he got his arm and leg ripped off by one of the creatures.

I liked when they were going to the new house that there dad bought because of a job and the boss told him that he needed a vacation so he made him leave for awhile and the whole time the kids would fight and they would hit eachother.

Summary: The Beasties
Review: I gave this book four stars. I really enjoyed the book the Beasties, by William Sleator, for several different reasons. One of these reasons was that the book was very descriptive. Doug, a 10th grader who loves the sport of baseball, and Colette, a 4th grader who loves to read, were trespassing through the tunnels of the Beasties when caught by one of the Beasties, Fingers. Sleator has a very creative way of writing the book and coming up with a way to catch everyone's attention. By making the Beasties have so many alien-like, yet human-like qualities you don't know if the Beasties are going to hurt Colette and Doug or just trey to be friends with then. When I first heard of the Beasties I thought that they were some kind of aliens that have come after humans. But the way that Sleator describes the Beasties is a way that is very unusaul and very unexpected. I you love the kinds of books that R.L. Stine writes then you will diffinently like the adventure that William Sleator has created for all of us. This book is not all "goods." The ending of the Beasties is very confusing and unrealistic. Yet the whole book is very fictional and unrealistic the ending is even more unrealistis then the book itself. If you are the type of readers that really gets into books and wants a good ending then this is not a good book for you. When you begin to read this book it takes a while for you to get into. I would recommend this book to any child or adult. If you like science fiction then this book is for you. But like I said if you need a good ending to complete a book then this book is not for you. I enjoyed the creativity that William Sleator has in making the Beastiescome out and catch your attention. i also thimk that this book sent out a good messageaboutn why to save the forests. So when you go to the next book store check out the Beatsties by William Sleator amd enjoy the book that I enjoyed as well.

Summary: The beasties
Review: I like this book, the Beasties because it's really creative. This story is about a brother and sister who won't get along. Their name Doug( brother) and Collette(sister). Doug loves playing baseball and Collette loves to read books and exploring. Doug and Collette explored on the woods and they saw a trapdoor. Collette puts her ribbon and put it on a stick then stuck it by the trapdoor. Doug and Collette went back and fell down in the trapdoor. Thats all I can tell you because the teacher should read it to their studenhts. I didn't like the ending of the story because it's boring but I think the teachers should read this to their students.
