Rating: Summary: Finally! Review: The first book in the long-awaited DARK SHADOWS series is here and it's worth the wait! Actress Lara Parker, the original Angelique, writes an intriguing, erotic tale of betrayal, occultism and secrets with the first family of Collinsport in a time long ago. I won't say I'm a die-hard fan, but I do know Angelique's story was one of the few things that captured my attention about this series (and which continues to intrigue me). Parker's writing style is lush and fluid, with an amazing ability to capture the essence of the actors who played those fantastic characters every DS fan has come to love (or hate, as the case may be). I've read some of her work before (she contributed to INNOVATION Comics' DS comic book series) and I was pleased -- she's outdone herself here with this excellent first novel of a (hopefully) long series of DS novels. Don't be afraid of the dark -- try this one!
Rating: Summary: Lara Parker does a great job filling in the gaps but....... Review: Being a big DS fan I was glad to receive this book as a gift. Although the book was very interesting I found it to be inconsistent with former story lines revealed in the actual series.
Rating: Summary: The story was to long. Review: I thought the story was good, but it took to long to tell it. I would have cut some of early childhood scenes from the book. I like it when it gave us the 1795 storyline thru Angelique eyes. It could been told in a two book series.
Rating: Summary: Lara`s book enthralled me. Review: Lara Parker is a brilliant writer."Angelique`s descent" kept me captivated from start to finish.I was really impressed with the surprises and twists in the plot.Having travelled from the U.K. to the 1999 D.S. fest I was surprised that this is Lara`s first published novel.I can`t wait until her next one-whether it is a sequel or something new.I think Lara will always keep the reader enthralled.
Rating: Summary: I LOVE DARK SHADOWS AND THIS BOOK!!! Review: I loved this book. It answered so many questions the show didn't. I thought this book was going to be corny and stupid but this book was so wonderful and I highly recommend it. A+
Rating: Summary: A wonderful book...... Review: A beautifuly writian book. Dark shadows is one of my many obcessions ever since my mom introduced me to the videos.I'm only 13 and this review means nothing to you but.....READ THIS BOOK!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful book very wonderful Review: This book is a very good and intersting book. I also brought my book to the Ds Festival 1999 and got in signed by Miss Parker. I was the first in line she also might have been amazed because i am 11 years old and i am enjoying this book. It is so worth buying. It is writing in way that when you read it on the first page you want to finsh it. It anwsers many questions for Dark Shadows fans who have not seen the first few epiosodes of Dark Shadows or ones who didn't understand it. This book is also 100 percent on the truth side maybe even higher because it is told by the star you lived the part in 1960's soap oprea.I think everyone who enjoyed waching Dark Shadows when they were young or who are watching it now should read this book . In the opion of me an 11 year old girl that loves Dark shadows i think that even this book is 100 dollars or you have to wait 8 hours in line to get this book it is very worth it . It is like an Alamanac which awnsers all your questions you could ever have ( from the rather stupid ones to the intellgent ones) about Barnabas and Angelique. So this book is a million percent worth it. Miss Parker did a great job on this book highly recommed to any clueless about Baranabas and Angelique Dark Shadows Fan
Rating: Summary: A wonderful horor/historic romance for old and new DS fans Review: I loved this book. I don't usually care for fan fiction or books based a television show but this is the exception. Only Lara Parker could write such a captivating life story of the character she brought to life on Dark Shadows. I look forward to future books.
Rating: Summary: I loved this Book, a must have for DS fans!!!!! Review: I talked to Lara at this years DS Fesival and I brought my book for her to sign it for me. I told her how much i loved the book. she was suprised to hear that a 16 year old had read her book and loved it but its true. I recomend this book for every Angelique fan out there.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Review: As a long time D.S. fan, the book took me back to the episodes where Vicki Winters went back in time. Miss Parker did a wonderful job. I'd like to commend her on a job well done. I had always wondered how Barnabas & Angelique had met and why she hated him so. The book answered alot of my questions. It was worth buying. A++++++++
