Rating: Summary: a great story Review: As a fan of the series, I have a bias and loyalty to the books, but I truly do think that anyone reading them will enjoy any of these. The characters are representative of their television counterparts, and the plot is good. Yes, there are a few editorial goofs, but those are easily overlooked since you know what is meant. All in all, a good fun read.

Rating: Summary: Went from bad to worse Review: As a long time fan of the television series I looked forward to this series of books by Richard Hatch. The first was o.k.. It got progressively worse with each book. Too bad Amazon doesn't allow for negative stars. Those who are familiar with the series stay away!. Otherwise be prepared for characters who have not matured in the past twenty yahrens, major mistakes in continuity and a commander with Kobollian 'super' powers. If that's not enough try just plain bad writing. If you aren't familiar with the series please, please, please do not judge it by this book. Instead check out almost any of the fanfic written by people who know the series and have actually watched the episodes; something Mr. Hatch appears to have not done since 1979.
Rating: Summary: Looks like another rush job Review: Having been a fan of the TV show, I really hate to say that with each new book, I am more and more disappointed. One somewhat bright note about this latest effort is at least the editing wasn't as bad as the previous book -- although there are still typos, too often repeated names (in one two sentence paragraph, the name 'Cassi' is used six times), and frequent confusion about who is speaking. While the idea of a rebellion within the fleet sounds chock full of drama, I found the telling rather flat and the characters taking on something of a cartoonish quality, leaving me not really caring if the good guys won. One positive element is that Starbuck and Cassiopeia's irritating daughter Dalton has a far more minor part. And the pace does pick up towards the end. But new elements are thrown in at the last second and the book ends suddenly, as if someone had said, "Time's up." There will undoubtedly be another to follow. I'm holding out hope that the story, the writing and the editing will live up to the example set by the first one.
Rating: Summary: Dismal Review: I borrowed this book from a friend who said she didn't want it back. I can see why. While showing improvement in the grammar and proofing categories, this book shows yet again that Richard Hatch has no real grasp of BG universe he starred in. There are major continuity glitches. Mis-characterizations abound. If he wants to write a "Commander Apollo Superstar", Mr. Hatch should do it in an original universe, not bastardize a fond memory. I cannot recommend this to any fan of the original Galactica.
Rating: Summary: Enjoyable! Review: I enjoyed the book. The bad reviews scared me at first, but I am glad I took the chance. Yes there are several typos and terminology mistakes (years for yahrens), but it didn't distract me from the story. I admit that I was disappointed that Apollo and Sheba didn't get together in the last book, but the new storyline does add interest. I have always been a huge fan of BSG and I have loved all Richard's books. If go to his website, he explains the problems with the books editing and publishing. If you are not sure about spending the money, buy it used.
Rating: Summary: You must be kidding! Review: I have read a lot of science fiction books, mostly television spinoffs or continuations. I have also read the previous books by Mr. Hatch. This 3rd installment should never had seen the light of day. It was the most confusing, poorly written, wandering novel since the "Prometheus Design" or "Mirabile". I question the wisdom of reading or purchasing the next book. In my opinion, "What a miserable addition to the Battlestar Galactica universe".

Rating: Summary: Continuing or confused Journey of the Battlestar Galactica Review: I love the BG series and am enjoying the books. The writing needs to be done more professionally. It helps if you know the TV series to know the charcters and I do recommend that they be read in sequence since it's a continuing story like the Star Wars New Jedi Order series (a great series). I'm disappointed that the writing or editing is not as good as it should be. In several of the books are misspellings, repeated words or missing words. (I even wrote to the publisher but never heard from them.) So when I run into one of these issues I lose the flow of the story and if I didn't enjoy BG I wouldn't continue reading it. Hopefully when the next book comes out they'll pay better attention to the final draft and correct these errors to allow the reading to go smoothly. I would recommend this book for people that enjoy BG and care about the characters and not care about the poor writing quality. It shouldn't take 5 books to get a good quality read.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Exciting Novel! Review: I love this book! Richard Hatch does it again! He takes his character Apollo into new and exciting adventures that will keep you on the edge of your seat! If you have seen Richard's Battlestar Galactica trailer that he shows at conventions, you already know his insight and commitment to the show and that continues in this wonderful book! I highly recommend!
