Summary: Please bring the old Stephen King back
Review: What happened to the Stephen King we got used to? The author of The Stand, Pet Sematary, Desperation, ... This book is to slow for me. What a waist of time.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Bag of Bones could have been so much more.
Review: Bag of Bones started out as a totally beautiful and wonderful story. It lost lots from the moment Mike and Kyra were at the carnival and never recovered. This book could easily have been the best book by King ever, even better than Carrie. But, alas, the story took a disasterously wrong turn. Still, it is better than most modern fiction. Read it, but don't take a day of work to do it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of Kings best.
Review: I have read all of King's books and rate this one up there with my all time favorite "The Stand". Of course, I rate his all his books as 4 or 5 stars, but this one should get 6!

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Too much fluff, writing leaves nothing to the imagination.
Review: How can a writer the caliber of Stephen King write a hundred pages and say nothing? I cannot even get past Chapter 4. I have every book he has written since Carrie. His last 4 books are absolutely intolerable. It is very hard to skip all the pages that really have nothing to do with the main story line.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A really, really good book (hard to put down)
Review: I had doubts about buying this book because I heard that I should wait until the paperback comes out but I am glad that I didn't listen because it is a really good book. I somtimes stayed up in bed reading it until the early hours of the morning because I couldn't put it down.

It is not a 'typical Stepehn King book' and it is not a 'horror' story. The book is more of a mental horror story and it plays with the mind (and with the characters mind as well).

The story is very interesting because it has a lot to do with being an author and it might have some insights about Mr. King feels about his work.

Not his best but still very good.

Summary: Terrific entertainment by a great storyteller!
Review: What starts with a deliberate pace explodes into a neck-throttling thriller. King is so good in this one! If you've ever wondered why he's such a successful writer...the last 300 pages of this story should incapacitate you from anything functional but finishing it. Bravo to a grand stroryteller!!!

Summary: Romantic Macab at it's BEST! A must read.
Review: I am no professional writer, even better I am a die - hard King fan. I love 96% of his work! I have read his work since high school, back in the early 80's. I've been hooked ever since!

King's latest release, Bag of Bones, is an unexpected pleasure to me. As I said, I love his stuff but with this novel I have enjoyed the intresting mix of romance and macab. I have finally read a haunting love story by my favorite horror author! The romance is not over the top or ozzing with explicit sex sceens, although it does still give us the zesty sexual flavor those of us who are avid readers of King's work expect. The romance is tender, and in my oppinion makes the story really pull us into the mystery. Makes us care how the story will go not just want to see how it ends.

The begining of the book sets the stage for a 40 year old male novel writer who is in his first few years of deep grief over the loss of his beloved wife and experencing the worst fate possable for a writer, writers block. The plot becomes intreging as he is carfully guided through various medieums, to realise he must reconsile with his past and get on with his future, what ever that may be.

When he realises where he must go he returns to the site of a summer home along a lake where his wife and he shared many happy times. Truth's and ghosts illuminate his need to heal the past and move into the future.

As he explores possable reasons for his writers block and inability to move on with his life he is drawn into an unexpected and shocking mystery of ghosts, murder, romance and a towns unexpected dark secreats.

(I read at night to clear my mind of my daily worries, to relax and sedate me, didn't happen with this book!)

Enough details. I'm not going to give the story away!

It is a great work, as usuall, of Mr. King. A must read for all Stephen King fans and a great introduction to his work if you like the macob, the pharanormal, romance, or can relate to being unable to move on with your life.

I'll talk about this one for a long time!

Summary: Very Good
Review: I thought this book was really good. Although, sometimes it bore me. I thought that King did a wonderful job on this book. It was really well writen.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good Read!
Review: What I admire most about King is his willingness to try new things. This novel varies from his "Horror" reputation as it is mostly a ghost story (with the necessary creepiness required). It is a great read and I was interested enough to be pulled away from everything else I should be reading for Graduate exams (I started it on an airplane). King, if you ever read these things, my only wish is that you would write another Dark Tower novel. Your brilliance shines within them. And that Damn rose is still in danger!! :-)
