Rating: Summary: It was pretty good Review: It was pretty good, although it wasnt as good as The Stand or I
Rating: Summary: Another good one from one of the best. Review: I have always loved Stephen King's way of writing, but there have only been a few books that I was as intrested in as this one. I could hardly put it down. It was simlpy mesmerizing. I beleive it is one of his best and one of the best I have read in a long while. He has always been good with his plots and this one is no different. In my oppinion if you like Stephen King, then you must read this book. If only to make your own decision on how wonderful this book truely is.
Rating: Summary: Creepy, sad, and satisfying Review: I, too, have read all of S.K's works and will always pick up his new books when they come out. I enjoy seeing him stretch the boundaries beyond shlock and gore. This book, while set mainly in a contemporary setting, has an almost gothic tone. It reminded me of Peter Straub's Ghost Story, where the evil men do in their youth comes back to haunt them. I thought it started out a bit slow, but eventually picked up speed and power. Good read; would recommend to even non-King fans (with a strong stomach)
Rating: Summary: King is simply amazing, he never ceases to amaze me. Review: This book was excellent. I'm 15 years old and this is the eighth book by King that I've read, he never fails. They keep getting better and better.
Rating: Summary: One Of The Best Review: Surely this has to rate as one of Stephen King's best books ever. It's the only one to make me hide under the covers when the light went out! Thoroughly enjoyed it, and can recommend it to anyone who's got the time to read it from cover to cover without putting it down - so make sure you've got the time!
Rating: Summary: A different kind of Stephen King book. Review: This was good, even though it was different from what I expected. I, too, like many others who reviewed the book, stayed up well into the early morning to finish this one! Went to work on just two hours sleep the next day, but it was worth it.
Rating: Summary: Certainly not one of King's better books! Review: This book caught me hook, line, and sinker at first. I had my nose in it every night! I was terribly disappointed when the plot began to weaken toward the end with the whole Mattie/Kyra scene, though. King brought in so many characters that the story became a web of confusion. I would find myself having to go back and re-read what I had already read just to keep track of the story line. I ended the book with a "That was IT?" attitude. Let's get back to the old Stephen King writing style.
Rating: Summary: feels like a "saver" Review: After reading this book, I got the distinct impression that just like his lead character, King had been keeping this book shelved somewhere "just in case". I was already one third of the way into the book before anything REALLY good (you know the stuff we buy horror books for)happened and I would only consider that a "catflinger". I've read almost all of King's work as well as a great deal of horror fiction and I must say I was disappointed. If not for the distinct Maine-isms it almost felt like it was written by an imposter.
Rating: Summary: Excellent book! Review: It's been a while since I've read a Stephen King book. I'm very happy to say that I'm glad I chose this one! The story development was perfect, the ghosts were scary, and I really fell for the main character. I found him to be a "real" guy- very believable. This story is sad, touching and absolutely terrifying! I would recommend it to anyone- even those folks who aren't neccessarily King fans.
Rating: Summary: I have always been a big Stephen King Fan! Review: Bag of Bones is one of the best books Stephen King has ever written. It is a reader's dream come true story with several examples of other author's works. I have always been a big fan of King, and this book puts him in the same league as John Irving. He is a wonderful storyteller, allowing the reader to fall in love with the characters. I read the book on tape, narrated by King himself. This was a very special treat. There is no guess work as to what the author is trying to say. Stephen King is a brilliant man!!!
