Rating: Summary: This is his best book that I have read yet! Review: I must admit that I only just started to read Stephen King's books ,but they are good! Bag of Bones was a good book, even though it was a little slow getting started. Once you get into it ,it is worth the read ( but you start to get into it around page 400...). Most of the action takes place at the end. In all, it was a good read.
Rating: Summary: Stephen King elevates self-loathing & misery to new heights! Review: Definitely not his best work, but a noble effort and well worth the time required to finish it. King's choice of putting writers in his books is beginning to suggest he's out of touch with everyday people, but he avoids confirming this by populating his (surprise, surprise!) small Maine town with a host of truly three-dimensional, realistically eerie characters. Some of the dialogue gets a bit forced, particularly the humor, but King is nothing if not a master at getting back on track. "Desperation" was better, however, and so was "The Regulators." Still not as painful to read as "Gerald's Game."
Rating: Summary: Weak weak weak weak weak weak weak Review: There was a time when every published book King gave birth to was something to behold. Now it seems every 4th or 5th book is really worth the effort.Very, very disappointing.
Rating: Summary: This is a very good novel Review: When I read about Bag of Bones on the back of the novel I didn't think much of it. But as soon as I started reading I loved it. It is a very good King novel and I recommend it to every King fan. It is very spooky and I love the way King puts us in the mind of a writer. This is a must read. Camiel Lentjes
Rating: Summary: My favorite so far... Review: I started reading Stephen King in junior high, when I decided I should only read books that made me look significantly "cooler" than I was. I've continued to read his works faithfully, long after I stopped worrying about what people thought! Bag of Bones is, I believe, his best novel so far. As always, it's a real turn-on-the-lights-before-you-fall-asleep story, but with truly three-dimensional characters, passion, old and new romance and even insights on the writing/publishing world. Well done, King!
Rating: Summary: KING IS THE MASTER Review: STEPHEN KING IS THE MASTER OF HORROR! "Bag of Bones" is definitely one of his best works! COMPELLING CHARACTERS, FRIGHTENINGLY REALSTIC DETAILS, and AN OVERALL EERY ENVIRONMENT makes "Bag of Bones" a must-read! The plot twists were completely UNEXPECTED! KING AT HIS BEST!
Rating: Summary: A MUST-read (and I'm not even a King fan!) Review: I originally began reading this book because a colleague loaned it to me and I was currently out of books to read. I am not particularly a fan of King's--It turned me off reading him totally--but I found that this book had a haunting, evocative quality lacking in his books since his earlier efforts. I did not find this a "slow" read as others may have--to me, the evolution of one's own spirit is action enough. Self-discovery of one's own darkness is necessary and often fascinating, as is Noonan's. I cannot wait to read it again as my reading it in 8 hours surely left me missing much of value!
Rating: Summary: A return to form Review: I am currently finishing up 'Bag of Bones', and I feel that this is one of King's best. I have read nearly everything he has written, and of late I have been disappointed. His most recent stories, while good, were never able to force themselves into my psyche the way some older books (The Stand, It, etc.) were able to. 'Bag of Bones' has definitely forced its will on me. King has eliminated some of the overwhelming introductory detail that has weakened his recent efforts, and created a story that, although not action packed, refuses to let me put it down. It has thoroughly enthralled me. I've been struggling this week to get to work on time because I find myself losing track of time every night. To King, keep 'em coming.
Rating: Summary: a haunted love story indeed Review: I don't know how he does it, but Stephen King appeals to the emotions like no other author I've ever read. He is a brilliant man and this book is one of the most tragic, involving stories I can think of. He reveals the pieces of the puzzle little by litte, and even when it gets scary, the novel keeps love as the tie that binds
Rating: Summary: It was a really good book. Review: Bag of Bones was an extremely suspenseful book. I really enjoyed the way that I was kept in suspense! Stephen King is my favorite author. I reccomend this book to anyone!
