Rating: Summary: A drag to the end Review: The most disappointing of the King books I've read. I had to force myself to finish the book whilst asking myself if he really wrote it. The story was not compelling and seemed to lack integration. I might rest on King for a while.
Rating: Summary: STEPHEN KING RULES!! Review: This is one of the best books I've ever read. It's got a great plot, and it's spooky too. It's one of those books you don't wanna read alone. It's totally freaky. It's great. Everyone go read it. :)
Rating: Summary: A terrific read! Review: I had not read a Stephen King book since "Rose Madder". When I heard "Bag of Bones" was less of a horror story and more of a love story, I was intrigued, and boy, I was not disappointed! "Bag of Bones" drew me in from the first page and kept me there with unexpected plot hooks. Mike Noonan is one of Mr. King's more human characters, and his story of lost love is a moving one. I hope Mr. King turns out a few more novels like these, and soon!!! Get better soon, Mr. King!!!!
Rating: Summary: The King has returned Review: I was starting to think that Stephen King had lost his touch. His last few novels have been less than stellar, and the prospects of him returning to form were diminished with each page he published. But Bag of Bones restored my faith. While not his best novel, Bag of Bones is trademark King. It has compelling characters (King's greatest strength) and an interesting story told with King's traditionally relaxed pace (King's greatest weakness). This is a wonderfully complex novel. Both King fans and those who don't generally like King's brand of horror should find much to enjoy in this book.
Rating: Summary: Emotional journey. Review: I don't read American fiction very often, but I read in recent days Bag of Bones, which I enjoyed very much, as too I read The Triumph and the Glory, which was magnificence and renown. I will be ordering more U.S. books from amazon.com Japan because of these two super books!
Rating: Summary: i thought the book was fabulous i just finished reading it! Review: I loved the book the idea and plot were both great. I don't want to say to much and give it away but buy it it is worth it
Rating: Summary: ZZZZZZZZ. A very long boring story. Review: If this were King's first novel, he would find himself flippng burgers for a living. At no point in time did I feel a draw to finish this story. Bag of Bones never captivated me, not once. I have read most of King's works and Bag of Bones is by far one of the worst books Stephen King has written. Stephen seemed sex obsessed throughout the whole story, breasts and nipples, even talk of pedophilia when "John talks to Mike about getting custody of Kyra." As for being SCARY... looking at my monthly phone bill scares me more. It is obvious that fans of this book have never read King before.
Rating: Summary: How does he do it? Review: How does Stephen King keep pumping out these incredible stories year after year? Although "The Stand" and "The Talisman" will always be my favorites, "Bag of Bones" is coming close to a tie with them. I listened to the audiobook while traveling, and (despite what a reviewer said about his voice) was so entranced by the story and the storyteller that I hated to stop for the night! The audiobook has a short interview with Mr. King at the end that deserves a listen.
Rating: Summary: Not your typical Stephen King! Review: Although I enjoyed Bag of Bones, I had to keep reminding myself that it was written by Stephen King. It is really unlike his other novels and short stories! It was an interesting read, but really didn't have the "zing" that most of his stories do. I kept waiting for something to happen!
Rating: Summary: Hooked Me From Page 1 Review: I recently finished The Green Mile and thought that was King's best work, but after finishing Bag Of Bones I have changed my mind! I couldn't set it down, as the story immediately draws you in and sends you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. I found the story easy to follow but impossible to predict. I am hooked on King's writing style and just went out and bought a copy of The Stand!
