Rating: Summary: A Little Long Winded But Hey... It's Stephen King! Review: I love the works of Stephen King and for that I will probably never judge him too harshly. This Bag Of Bones is not his greatest work but I must say I slept with my light on many a night!
Rating: Summary: A great read! Review: I was late to the King party but sinse pickking up "The Stand" a few years ago have read most of his books. This one pulled me right in and held me until the very end. Although lengthy, I felt it was all very relavent to the depth of the story. The rock throwing incident was truly chilling and really makes you think about how quickly things can escalate. Overall a very enjoyable story but I am glad I didn't read it on a stormy night in the woods.
Rating: Summary: Strong New Novel Review: Although many of Stephen King's more recent novels have reminded me of the manuscripts that the writer's-blocked main character had in the safety deposit box, this novel made up for them. Yes, it was long, but it was also wonderful. I really identified with the characters and the ending was definitly scary, as was the scene where the narrator is attacked by Max. Suspenseful as well. As a Stephen King addict, I can only hope that he can keep this up!
Rating: Summary: Started out good, but... Review: I've been a King fan for 16 years. I've read it all (I do have a prefrence for the weird stuff). This book was very good even though it was very different. I was very much hooked, then...not. The day of the Bar-B-Que was were I got lost. Things happened way to fast and not very clearly. Maybe I'll read it again in the future and have a better appreciation for it (as I did w/Carrie...hated it the first time, read it again a little while ago and it was O.K.). Still, so far, Desperation, The Tommyknockers, It, and The Dark Tower series are my favs. O.K., Mr. King, when is the next installment of Roland's adventures???
Rating: Summary: The King of Kings Review: Bag of Bones is as good as popular fiction gets. It dances the line between novelty horror and weighty yarn-weaving, but leans heavily to the latter. It will grip you, keep you turning, guessing, thinking. It will surprise you too, 'cause King is anything but predictable. We see King maturing, even as an elder statesman of his craft. He brings lush characterization, haunting questions that are anything but simple, and a narrative so real it's scary. Get this book, and prepare to be lost for a while...
Rating: Summary: Big fun! Review: This is King as you used to know him. In my opinion, this ranks up there with "Insomnia" and "The Stand". This is a different approach for him. The main character is very believable. I enjoyed it and highly recommend it. The climax builds like a Nor'easter and rolls like a summer storm, leaving you to procrastinate chores and make excuses. In fact, it would be best read during a thunder-boomer! Enjoy! END
Rating: Summary: Great new territory for King Review: The two greatest love stories I've read this year have been found in the unlikeliest of places, BAG OF BONES, and THE TRIUMPH AND THE GLORY. This new one from Stephen King is a touching book that explores the timeless passion of romance and the pain of loss, through the eyes of the world's premeir horror novelist. King pulls it off in fine fashion, he can write well about anything, and has proven it with BAG OF BONES.
Rating: Summary: Stephen's back to his classic style of writing! Review: I really enjoyed all of Stephen's older books. Some of his newer books are real duds, things with no emotion. This new book is classic. I loved every minute of this book, especially when they went to the carnival. What an experience to have at a carnival, huh? Anyway, I'll keep on ranting and raving about the classics if I don't stop the review now. Read this book, you'll love it!!!
Rating: Summary: Not up to par ! Review: As a Stephen King addict I have to say I did not get my fix from this too long novel. Of course no one hits a home run every at-bat but this was less than a pop-fly. None-the-less I'll no doubt purchase every book he writes because when he gets it right there's no one better.
Rating: Summary: Please read the unabridged AUDIO version. Review: This is a wonderful story set in Maine with a hard look at racisim in America. I highly recommend that you listen to the unabridged Audio edition. There are some interesting musical intervals that you won't get with the book. King has made the book even more interesting with the inclusion of the music that fits in with the story. The characters are real and the story keeps you on the edge. I loved it.
