Rating: Summary: Overall letter grade=D Review: Some time in the early 80's King forget how to write. When I think that this is the same guy who wrote The Dead Zone(excellent), I know the previous statement is true. This story is full of silly ghosts and very boring, one dimensional characters. Money and fame definitely killed this guy's talent.
Rating: Summary: Unbalanced new style Review: The first half of this tomb is wonderful. But the second halfof this book got so boring, with too many unimportant description anda very loose ending. Mr. King is obvious struggling in this book. He wants to change his stereotype mass-product stories but the new style has not fully ripen yet. I am waiting for his next book.
Rating: Summary: I got hooked immediatley I just wanted to read and read Review: When I started I just wanted to know why is he having these dreams and what happened to cause this. Was his wife having an affair? was the baby his? was he going to sleep with the young mother ? Was the old man going to get the little girl I was what you could call hooked I loved this book and stephen king! His books always make me feel like there is a movie screen in my head and I played this movie over and over . It was spellbinding.
Rating: Summary: Good Review: Bag of bones was a well written book. The story line flowed well and it was very scary. I dont understand how Mike Noonan could have killed a ghost with a bottle of lye though. . . Otherwise it was good. P.S. The Sixth Sense is a stupid movie
Rating: Summary: Bag of Bones a multidimensional plot Review: Stephen King's latest thriller "Bag of bones" runs with a number of themes simultaneously and nearly pulls them all off. There's a love theme, and history theme, a fear theme and a psychic theme. This makes for interesting reading, but requires more than normal concentration from the reader, a real plus for some of us. In the end the reader leaves feeling that he or she has survived an unreal experience, enriched but just a little short-changed. Maybe it's because it reads like a movie script, rarely the best format for a novel. All in all a worthwhile read, essential for all those Stephen King fanatics amongst us.
Rating: Summary: ...Please, Trust me !! Review: I've been a fanatic of King's work since "Carrie" and I'm really disappointed about this one (I read it in about 15 days, forcing myself to do so because I was looking forward to get a Good Book after it). The problem about this novel it's not its length but the enormus lack of inspiration that -I'm sure- is the reason of the endless repetitions and the silly, boring dreams. If you love S.K., please, DON'T BUY THIS BOOK!! By doing so, maybe, you'll increase the (few) chances to see our (ex)favourite writer's redemption.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! King's Best! Review: I was really reluctant to read Bag of Bones because I heard so much bad reviews. I made myself read it and I loved it! I've read it twice now! From the first page, I was hooked. King just took my emotions and ran with them. He put the drama in mixed with the horror. Yeah. . . there was lack of action and ghost ect. which King usually writes but look at this in another view. I am a huge fan of King and this is definately my favorite. It was also very freaky. Of course he had ghosts. . . then it really wouldn't be a knig novel. And let me tell you them ghosts are so freaky. It literally sent chills up my spine! So if your looking for a novel that will make you sad, make you smile, and make you scared to death, then I would completely recommend this book to you!!!
Rating: Summary: Engrossing Review: I really enjoyed this book. It was completely unpredictable; I didn't understand what was happening until the end, and even then I had to think about it. I loved the characters, especially the little girl. I laughed, cried, and couldn't go to sleep.
Rating: Summary: a dynamic story in constant motion Review: When I think of Bag of Bones, I think of the book that generated such an attachment for the protagonist that it nearly made me cry for him and his deceased wife on page two! It's inevitable that the reader bonds with the main character and then follows him through a story that constantly changes. You think you know exactly where this plot is going, and then it picks up and does a 180-degree turnaround. King shows in this book two things: First, he is a master of literature and not just "gore" books. Two, that he is not just writing movie scripts. This book will never be made into a movie and doesn't need to be. It stands alone as an outstanding work from one of the best authors of the day.
Rating: Summary: One of his few books to actually scare me! Review: Once past the first one hundred pages, which just provide background material, you can't put it down. This novel is much better than many of his latest works and much, much scarier than any of his works! I also found that the end is not as contrived, nor as disappointing as many of his other books, such as the Stand or Needful Things. A very worthwhile book and one I most definetly reccommend.
