Summary: All bones--No meat to this story
Review: The most startling thing about this book, is that Stephen King wrote it. I found it very hard to finish it; it was so boring and predictable. Even the ending when 'everything' was supposedly explained turned out to be bland and just plain silly. Not scary, very predictable, and he took forever with mudane details that did not add to the story at all.

Summary: a sad story that grips your heart
Review: Never before has stephen king taken such a mature approach to his writing. Not to say that his books are for kids, but this novel is reminiscent of classics, and some of the jokes and quotes can only be understood by someone who's read dickens, or the equivilant there of. One thing though, if you get depressed easily, don't read this book. The whole thing is about as sad as it gets.

Summary: The New Stephen King lives up to his task
Review: This is a great read. Stephen Kings new writing is just as good as always.... only from a different angle. The characters and plot are a little hard to understand in the beginning but all come together wonderfully, which is the idea. I hate reading books that make everything clear right from the start....nothin to guess and wonder about! I spent my whole birthday lying in bed reading this book it had my attention so much! Three days of non stop reading.... and the end was just perfect. Not all sunny where everyone wins in the end, but enough to not be disappointed. GREAT Book! Full of wonder and suspense.

Summary: Masterpiece intertwined with Romance and Horror
Review: Stephen King just may be the greatest American writer of the later half of the 20th century. Bag of Bones helps my idea pass. In this moving novel, we learn King's side of romance, however dark it may be. Masterfully written and brilliant to the end, I strongly suggest you buy this book!!!

Summary: A real gem
Review: This book was mature and well-written, with an attention to detail unique to Steven King. His ability to capture nuance is unparalleled.

There were so many random images and "loose ends" in this novel making it difficult to see how they were all going to fit together, but by the end it all made perfect sense. This is a writer who has so much craftsmanship at this point in his career, it's just a pleasure to read, following him into the dark and knowing that there will be gratification at the other end.

Summary: A frightening book. I loved it!
Review: This book scared me. I had vivid nightmares while I was reading it, I insisted the lights were kept on in my bedroom at night and thoroughly enjoyed every emotion Mr. King's book roused in me!

Summary: I loved this book! King has done a truly wonderous job!
Review: This book dosn't have the usual super scary theme to it, but it has a wonderful story line. I liked this book so much because it has just the right mixture of love, horror, and good 'ol northern hospitality to it.A great book for the new menillium!

Summary: He dared..
Review: Stephen King has changed...only for this book ?Is that good? Personaly I will say YES!! Bag of bones is a very descriptif book and is very good written! The suspense is always present! For me one of the best books from Stephen King! He has tried to change and that's good!Because if you read a Mary Higgins Clark,it's like you have read all the Mary Higgins Clark! (but I have to say that I really like Clark)

Summary: Somewhat of a coming of age tale for King...
Review: King's books each have their own separate world in which they exist, and you can always go back to those worlds and see how everyone is doing. Just today, as I was about to run to the store to buy Hearts in Atlantis, I picked up this book to check out the afterword about Hearts In Atlantis, and skimming through the book, became engroosed once again in the story that was told here.

In parts he sounds like the King of old, not rushing to get to the great idea he just had, nor stalling while he attempted to stumble upon a great idea. In other parts he seems to dwell on details, a thing King has never exactly done. I musn't complain though, as this was more or less the feel of the book. Details often became important.

I felt good when I finished this beast of a book, rarely will I enjoy a book the whole way through, especially one of this size.

If you are a King fan, get this book, if you just enjoy King's brand of horror, I would recomend reading some passages to see if you like this more mature work, and if you enjoy a good story, without a doubt, you must own this book. You must read it, because even if you come out with nothing, this book may be known as a classic some fifty years from now, and I know you would love to say you read it...
