Summary: Great New Turn FOr Stephan King!
Review: VERY very good read. Stephan King really surprised me in this novel. He did great at trying to find something new. I thought the writing and charaters were very detailed! At first (well most the way thru the book) I thought I MUST have missed something??? There were a few of the story lines I HAD to have missed, I was DEAD wrong. In the last few pages it All comes together wonderfully and all the little things you thought you missed.... comes to a sudden BOOOOOM! I gives it a great thumbs up! I love reading a book that keeps you in suspense til the end. Took me 3 days to read and it was a HUGE book...I could NOT put it down!

Summary: This is an excellent book!!!!!!
Review: I just finished reading bag of bones, and I thought it was excellent. Its one of those books you cant put down and you find yourself reading until the wee hours of the morning. There are parts that had me laughing out loud, parts that made me teary, and parts that had me turning all the light on in the house because I kept "hearing these noises". Its one those books that can really scare you as a horror novel should. I felt like I was right there on the "TR" with everyone experiencing what they were. Dont let the length of the book put you off because once you start you cant put it down. This is one you wont be sorry you bought to read, I promise.

Summary: Another King Phenomenon
Review: Perhaps the best judge of how much one likes any particular novel, is not whether one can decide if the author has "turned serious" in his fiction writing or whether it "kept you up all night", but rather, how much do you care for the characters? I found myself enjoying a great Stephen King read through 4/5ths of the book when suddenly (no spoilers) I realized exactly how much I cared for the characters! Readers will understand. So many books these days give me a ho-hum reaction to character happenstance but Bag of Bones brings it all home. I recommend this book to anybody. A definite competitor for the coveted Goochie Award this year!

Summary: I absolutely COULD NOT put it down!
Review: This book is typical of Steven King's best work. It was suspenseful, emotional, and as always, EXCELLENT storytelling. I would recommend it to anyone who has a lot of time on their hands; you will not want to put it down until you finish!

Summary: A different kind of King
Review: Great book! This is a bit different than the usual King. However, it is a great story and keeps you riveted throughout. I highly recommend it!

Summary: SCARY -- WONDERFUL -- HIS BEST YET!!!!!!
Review: This book fits in the class with The Shining, it is mesmerizing, frightening. The story is wonderful, it is fast paced and it doesn't explode in exaggeration at the end. From the very beginning it draws you in, it is scary and the characters are so real, one comes to really care for them, alive and dead. There is no better combination! If you read any King at all, read this and The Shining!

Summary: Engrossing and suspenseful...
Review: Give King a break! Bag of Bones is an engrossing tale that, while it falters a bit at the end, is a great and fun read. This was the first King book I had read in 13 years- I was never able to quite forgive him for the truly despicable characterizations of gay men in "IT", and so, went on a decade plus hiatus- but with this book, I am back. The story is unpredicatble, veers wildly, and while it doesn't have a sense of humor that other books of his do, I can think of no book I have read in a long time that so aptly conveys the feelings of loss and isolation when a spouse dies. King is right on target, and indeed, that's the most moving part of the tale. The final few chapters tend to falter as some characters are forgotten, and things are not clearly explained. And one can see King's editor asking him for more blood and gore that leaves one with the lingering feeling that the climax on the dock was written with a screenplay in mind. Despite the rather cliched round up (that sadly brings to mind the recent film, "Stir of Echoes") Bag of Bones is a fun read, with grief, sadness and rage as well as an ambivalence on the part of the reader between what is good and what is evil.

Summary: Simply brilliant, frightening, upsetting, - a King !!
Review: In my opinion, this is one of the best novels written by Stephen King. Just read it, I know you'll simply love that story. King is a master of the art of giving you a very special sense of beeing drawn into that reality you unlikely want to exist within. There is no escape before you have finished the novel. A simple believable everyday story, with a scary twist.....

A famous writer suffers from writers block after the loss of his wife. He is tortured by the way his wife was killed in a car accident. Some time passes, and he decides to move to his summer house in a small town, hoping to get over the loss, and the block. It's time to turn over another leaf....

He get aquainted with a young widow and her daughter, and the angry grandfather who intends to take the child away from the mother. Power, prejudice, and money talks. The town is little, and has always been run by one sick bastard, who just happens to be the grandfather of that poor little girl who lost her father. He just happens to hate the poor little girls mother, and he just happens to be the one everybody seems to be afraid of somehow....... and it all has some connection to a buried part of the town history that noone there wants to dig up.......one man starts to dig.....one man goes against the ghosts of the past living in his house.....and in the streets of the town....

The horror of the truth is simple, it is alarming, sickening and realistic. A little timetravelling into the past can be really nice, however, it's most likely that sometimes you really should let sleeping dogs lie.....if you start digging them up, you might find more bones in the bag than you expected to........

Enjoy the King's masterpiece !!
