Summary: Insomnia
Review: Insomnia at frist was recomened by my english techer, i think that she has some screws loose in her head so i was not vary excited about reading it AT FRIST. I had my mom pick me up a copy a the book store and started reading it, and I only have one bad thing to say about me picking up that book, and that is I could not put it down. I read it for two stright days only stoping to eat. This book is amazing you have to read it. It in my mind is the best book by Steven King yet.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Haunting Tragic and completely involving.
Review: This book is a departure for King. I don't think you can classify it as horror, maybe more as gothic suspense or such. Though there are shocking moments, "Give me that its my dustcatcher!" It is mostly a love story. The lost wife, the beautiful young mother both become very special to the protagonist. The psychic child is endearing...I love the villians, the old man with his oxygen mask etc. The horror of Sarah Laughs.....Though some things are contrived, the book is beautiful and fascinating. It brought me to tears on many occasions...Don't miss it.

Summary: Bag of Bones
Review: Before I read "Bag of Bones"- I use to think Stephen King books were nothing but "horror novels"-with no real plot- no real story- just kill- kill- and kill some more! Well I was totally wrong. When this book came out- something drew me in- and I had to read it- this was my first Stephen King book. Yes- I watched a lot of Stephen King movies- but never read any of his books. This is the BEST book I've ever read! This book contains everything- romance- drama- comedy- action- and yes horror! In one part near the end- I found myself holding back tears. This book evokes so many different human emotions- that no matter what type of books your into- you have to read "Bag of Bones". This book will go down in history as one of Mr. Kings best- and as one other reviewer noted: people will be reading this 100 years from now as an American classic. Since reading this book- I've been hooked on Stephen King- and can't get enough! Good thing he has over 30 books to keep us busy reading. "Bag of Bones" is one of those books you'll remember for a long time- and it might even change your life a little bit. I also recommend "The Girl who Loved Tom Gordon" - which was published last year by Mr. King- it's also a great read. Buy "Bag of Bones" today- you won't regret it- you'll be up half the night- not because this Stephen King book is scary- but because you won't want to put it down.

Summary: Leisurely paced
Review: I think that King has achieved a new level of ability with this book. It is long, structured, and as often with his books, interesting and engaging. Snip: (...)

Summary: Enthralling
Review: I am a fan of horror stories. I love horror movies and I'm usually found at the Horror section in bookstores. Although I have not read many of King's books, I like his work.

This book captures your attention right from the start. A first person narration of the story gives it a personal touch. You feel for Noonan, you feel for his wife Jo, you pity Mattie.

The vivid descriptions of the scenes make one feel as if you are there as it happened. The storyline is superb, it makes you want more. It makes you want to lie in bed all day to find out what new horrors Noonan discovered in his home, who was Sara Tidwell, what Devore and his right-hand man would do to get Kyra... At every alternate bend on the road, you would discover pieces of a puzzle that had to be put together. Picking up each piece left by his dead wife along the way, you would be as eager as Noonan to find out exactly how the whole picture looked like.

In the one week that I took to complete the book, I had dark sneaky thoughts in my mind when I turned off the lights to go to bed after reading the book. Somehow I felt I was part of the story and the spooks had creeped out to get me.

All in all, the horror factor was not very high but the mystery surrounding the characters kept you going. A truly captivating read.

Summary: King's Most Riveting Book Yet
Review: Let me get this out of the way first. I absolutely fell in love with Mattie Devore. Her character touched me the way I haven't been reached in many a year. If this book is ever made into a movie, they better make sure they cast her character appropriately.

This book was excellent. It starts out slowly, but King goes into superb detail introducing the reader to the protagonist Mike Noonan. Noonan is a successful novelist who is mourning the sudden death of his young wife Jo. After developing writer's block in the aftermath of her demise and as a result of vivid, disturbing nightmares centered around the couple's lakeside home, Noonan eventually attempts to confront his past and his broken sleep by moving back to the home called Sara Laughs.

Once there he is haunted further, but comes back to life upon rescuing a 3 year old girl Kyra Devore and her striking, albeit young mother Mattie. Mattie had the "gall" to marry the son of a bitter, filthy rich mogul. The son had died in a freak accident, but Max Devore, Mattie's father-in-law and Kyra's grandfather, had become determined to gain custody of the child from the mother he despises and calls unfit (among other things).

Noonan is soon "spirited" into the battle and quickly falls in love with Mattie who has much more substance than he first imagines.

( ) Regardless, the mystery regarding the haunted history of the area is discovered and the books ends relatively hopefully (with one enormous, glaring exception that I still can't get over).

This was an on-the-edge-of-your-seat, you-can't-put-it-down kind of yarn. Previously, my opinion was that "The Stand" was King's best, but that book has nowhere near the beauty or substance of this book.

If you like a good tale, a good scare, or best of all a good romance, don't pass up the opportunity to read "Bag of Bones." I may just read it again. I can't get it out of my mind. I'm haunted now as well. Oh, Mattie!

Summary: Couldn't put it down - King at his best!
Review: This book is less blood and guts and more realistic horror, if there is such a thing! I couldn't put this book down, though parts turned my stomach and gave me nightmares! Bravo!

Summary: Sara Laughs
Review: This book is guaranteed to be one of the few books to torment and keep one sleepless most of the night. Even if it was a dark or stormy night the lights kept on in the bedroom might keep the "ghosts" at bay. (We all know ghosts are afraid of the light.) Nightmares after reading it will be common. How pleasurably tormenting is the book you ask? For me, Bag of Bones was just as frightening the second time around
