Summary: Stephen King is not a romance author
Review: Okay, this book was just typical, not at all close to being what it was made out to be. The man just isn't a romance author, he's getting soft in his old age. I put up with in it Wizard and Glass becuase, well, it's The Dark Tower. Now this book was okay, but not King standards. It was the Kings of the 80s where all his worst books were written (Chiristine, Cujo). I guess diehard fans will like it, I'm just a Dark Tower person I guess.

Summary: 2 thumbs up- a literary "tour de force"
Review: Very interesting and gripping tale. The book was everthing you would expect from Stephen King. Great story and great characters. You can't put this book down until you finish it!!!!

Summary: Not "The Stand," but good
Review: I've kind of gotten away from Stephen King's stuff in the last 10 years or so, since the Dark Tower series left me cold. I loved "The Stand" and "The Shining," and even "Christine" was a fun weekend read. "Bag of Bones" is one of the better King efforts. The characters, as always, are well-rounded and sympathetic. The evil characters are pretty much pure evil, although (and this isn't a spoiler, just a comment) I was pleasantly surprised to see that the little girl's cute habit of adding an "ie" to the end of her nouns seemed to come from "her white nana," and not her mother. An un-King-like humanization of the icky characters!

It's worth mentioning that I'm a second-year law student, and shouldn't be taking the time to read anything for fun until after final exams (at which point I won't WANT to read anything for fun) -- but I spent two evenings reading this. Once I started it, I had to see how King would resolve it. It's definitely worth reading.

Summary: King Never Ceases to Amaze.....
Review: Stephen King reveals a depth to his writing in "Bag of Bones" that is hard to match. I was enthralled from page one. If you are expecting an edge of your seat, jump 10 feet in the air whenever you hear a sound as with some of his other works like "The Stand", "The Shining", et al; be prepared - "Bag of Bones" show a maturation and different side of his writing. Don't misunderstand, there is still suspense and a sense of urgency - it is just a more ethereal quality. I can't remember when I have felt so much empathy for his characters.

I always get the feeling when King has a main character who is a writer that there is a certain autobiographical quality to it. In the past, it has been rather disturbing. With "Bag of Bones" you feel as though you would like to have this character as a friend.

I enjoyed "Bag of Bones" to the fullest. As a long-time fan of Stephen King, I can tell you I wasn't disappointed in the least.

Summary: One of the best- the old King is back!
Review: Having read every King book available, I feel that this one brings us back to the original format and style we all remember from not too long ago.King brings us right into the mind and heart of the characters, so we feel, and worry for them. King is one of the few that I can never put down until I am done- and as usual with King, this is no exception!

Summary: Amazing
Review: I have read most of King's books and his constant shift in style never fails to amaze me. The mixture between reality and fantasy is a skill only few can manage and present in this endearing manner. King is improving all the time. He is full of surpises and his novels are becoming more and more believable. I congratulate him on his latest feat.

Summary: King is back and he is at his best
Review: Typical Stephen King it is not. "Bag of Bones" has a turn to King that is great; spooky instead of horror, a tale of romance and deception. If you thought that King was waxing away as a novelist you can forget it; Stephen King is back and I love it!

Summary: Start Fall with a Chill in your Bones (your BAG of BONES)
Review: I've read many of Stephen's books. Some were too wordy-some too stupid. But this book like Desperation or Insomnia, is one of the best books Kings ever written. It's a real page turner!! Once you crack the cover, you burn dinner, you miss sleep & you check under the bed. And if you walk through your house at night in the dark, you have to fight the urge to keep looking behind you.Is someone there? Then when you've finised it,you're temtped to start all over again-even if it's 1 a.m. KUDOS STEPEHN!!!! YOU'VE DONE IT AGAIN!!

Summary: Provocative and Salacious
Review: King excels in his choice of new direction from classic ghoul horror to the more intimate and thought provoking literature he now produces. I enjoyed this book enormously.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Ignore the critics
Review: This is as good a book as King has ever written in spite of what some reviewers have said. It has the suspense and a good helping of the "gooshy" stuff King is known for. I read it in 2 days so it does hold one's attention--like all his books
