Rating: Summary: This was a GREAT book!!!! Review: This was one of my favorite V.C. Andrew sagas. I was so mad at Ruby's stupid twin sister, Gisselle, that I wanted to kill her. I wish Ruby would have stood up for herself better, and just kicked Gisselle's butt! Pearl in the mist, All that glitters, Hidden Jewel, and Tarnished gold, were all excellent! Must read books!
Rating: Summary: GOOD BOOK BUT... Review: All of the books in this series are "good", but I really wanted to see Ruby ***at ANY point*** in the series get a backbone!!! If she had a backbone, Giselle would not have been crippled in a car accident--she would have most likely been found at the bottom of the stairs...Ruby just takes crap from everyone. If she could just get a backbone, I would rate every book in this series a 10!
Rating: Summary: One of the best books I've ever red Review: Ruby was an excellent book to read although I recommend that readers should read Tarnished Gold so that they have an idea of what's going on. Readers with very vivd imaginations can actually feel as if they're sitting in the background and observing Ruby's exciting life. This book was the absoute BOMB, I give it four stars.
Rating: Summary: Ruby is simply BRILLIANT!! Review: As soon as you open the cover you are transformed into a different world. A world of a young girl that is trapped because of her family's past action. This is a book of entrancement which will not let you put it down!
Rating: Summary: Finding the truth of a life of lies Review: In the book, Ruby, written by V.C. Andrews, a young lady by the name of Ruby Landry has been living a life of lies and secrets. This exciting drama includes the struggles and encounters she must face after her Grandmere Catherine dies and she discovers the truth about her whole life. The book becomes more interesting as more and more secrets about her life are revealed. As Ruby finds out these secrets her pain can be felt by the reader. It is a story which displays one of the most painful secrets a person could encounter in their life. Though Ruby finds a love with Paul Tate, she knows little about what she will discover of him and her unknown family. This book is very interesting as everything that could possibly go wrong, goes wrong in Ruby's life. It makes the reader want to keep reading to find out what is going to be revealed next about her life. If you read Ruby and think it is a good book, you should read the other books in V.C Andrews, Landry series.
Rating: Summary: RUBY Continues the Style and Greatness of V.C. Andrews Review: With Ruby, V.C. Andrews continues the greatness of her storytelling. Even though we all know that she passed on in 1987, the outline that she left for this series was very intriguing. The situation was very interesting and made you want to weep for all the terrible things that happened to her when she was a girl and throughout her life. When I was in New Orleans over the summer and visited the Garden District, I felt so close to this character that I felt that I would find her or her sister Giselle in New Orleans.
Rating: Summary: Not one of Andrews' best, but. . . . Review: she didn't technically write it; it was one of those "post-humously" released titles. VC Andrews' formula is more apparent in this series than anywhere else I've seen. It's no "Flowers in the Attic", but I'll keep buying these books. Who knows, maybe they'll hire a more talented ghost writer with my money
Rating: Summary: great book Review: I thought 'Ruby" was a fantastic book. The series of the lighthearted girl is filled with lots of grief and sadness. It made me cry and yell at the book from anger and sadness. This is the kind of book that makes people want to read more
Rating: Summary: RUBY PROVES TO BE PRECIOUS Review: V.C. Andrews has the amazing ability to capture the reader's emotions and mind by writing twisted tales that never cease to surprise one. The foundation for this book is lies that have changed the status and relationships of the characters involved. Ruby is forced to live with the decisions of her dead mother and swamp dwelling grandfather. On top of the foundation, Andrews builds characters whose lives are intertwined because of their mysterious pasts. Additional details make this book exciting and romatic and priceless and exquisite. This book was easy to read, and hard to put down. When I finished the first thing I did was request the sequel, and I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of this book
Rating: Summary: Jessica Monteux--two thumbs way up for this book!! Review: This book is of the same quality as my other favorite, Flowers in the Attic. Although I would not recommend that anyone under 12 read this book, it is a great read, and I think all other books pale in comparison now that I've read all of Andrews'. I will continue to read and re-read these books for a long time and I guarantee anyone who reads Ruby will fall in love with it and go out and buy the rest of the series like I did!
