Rating: Summary: All right Review: I had just read the miserable Wildflowers series when I started Ruby,so it was a breath of fresh air. Usual ghostwriter fare, but beats the miniseries of late. Does make you want to read the rest of the series for entertainment, not to see how awful Niederman can make V C's name look. Not bad at all.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Review: This book was phenomenol, it depicted the heartaches and beauty of life. Ruby was a strong girl who didn't let her talent and money get in the way of her natural kindness. When I finished this book I didn't realize that it had a sequel to it, so I was rather disappointed. When I finally found out that it had a continuation to it I was astounded after all the ending of Ruby left me wondering about a lot of things!
Rating: Summary: I loved this book! Review: This was a great book and I sypathize with Ruby and Giselle's a total witch...blah, blah, blah, I have something more important to say! Okay, so Andrew Neiderman is a great author and I like what he does with the VC books. All of the series by him that I've read (in chronological order)-Dawn, Heaven, Ruby-I've loved. But it's all too similar! Basically, every heroine in these books are extremely poor girls who redeem themselves to high society and on the way manage to fall in love with a biological or adoptive (or both) relative(s) and find have illegitimate children! Them, their daughters, and mothers also coincidentially get raped and/or almost raped by their father..or stepfather..or brother..or grandfather..or uncle..Pick one. Some influencial male in their lives. Why does Mr. Neidermann follow this general storyline? I have seen several sites that have theorized a pattern in his stories. Here is what I am going to do-I am going to read the Runaway series and the newer series. I understand they are terrific and also quite short. If I read about one more lower class girl who get raped and rich, I give up with Neidermann. It's actually quite sad that Ms. Andrews name gets put on these books.
Rating: Summary: First love and first betrayal are in this book. Review: You get to experience the innocence of Ruby fading away as she steps into life. No longer shadowed by the Bayou she longs for a larger more unshielded life. As she go on, lots of her past which was unbeknownst to her is unveiled.
Rating: Summary: Straight forward, very interesting. Review: "Ruby" was the 9th book of V.C. Andrews that I had read. I thought it was very interesting and when I started it, i stayed up all night to finshed. I can't wait to start "Pearls in the Mist" and finsh the series. This book is much more straight forward than some of the other series, I could easily explain this book to someone, but i'm sure it would take a lot longer to explain the Logan or Cutler. Overall, I recommend this book to read strongly.
Rating: Summary: It's a pretty good book. Review: There's no literary value in it, but it's an entertaining book to read
Rating: Summary: Totally cool book! Review: I first read the Ruby Landry series when I was 11. I fell in love with the series. I've read it 15 times since I read it the first time. V.C. Andrews was a great writer. I want to be a writer like her one day.
Rating: Summary: It's great. I love V.C. Andrews books. Review: I love this series. My family is from Louisiana and it does go along with the happenings. Love to read her books and I hope the agency keeps writing more.
Rating: Summary: Finally a real woman Review: Reading Ruby was like a breath of fresh air. So many of the V.C. Andrews girls are whiny blonds who don't have enough sense to stick up for themselves. But Ruby has as much fire as her hair is red. She didn't take what was handed to her, and you found yourself cheering her on instead of putting her down. This book kept you guessing too for anyone who likes twist and turns this book is a must!
Rating: Summary: Good but slow at first Review: I have read a bit of v.c. Andrews. This is the first one that dragged on and on. I stuck with it becasue I knew it would pick up and it did. Near the end I couldn't stop thinking about the book I haad to finsh it no matter what.
