Rating: Summary: That old magic is back . . .somewhat Review: Well, I was VERY disappointed with that little orphans series, those books were so Fear Streetish, but I still checked the bookstore everyday looking for the runaways, anyway, I'm done with it now and I experienced the same kind of page turning time I had with the dollanganger/casteel books, not as good, by any means, but still a good book overall. I liked the dark atmospere and the way those four vixens got out of "HELL HOUSE". Also another thing that caught my eye is that this is the first book since Dark Angel that has stepback art on both sides of the inside cover, only Dard Angel and Petals on the WInd have this, it's cool to see it again. You may not know that since the stepback art is only on the first printed editions and Petals and Angel are old books. Those four orphans were so hot too. Raven and Butterfly were sex kittens, Crystal was the brainy, career red hot vixen and Brooke was the strong type. All in all, a good book. I can't wait for Olivia though, the logan series was much better, I also heard rumors about the upcoming series to have a BIG surprise. Maybe they found a manuscript that the REAL V. C. wrote and will publish it?~Tom Nordlum
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT!!!!!!!! Review: This book is fantastic. I wouldn't want to close the book, infact I finished it in 2 days time. To all the readers who have read all the 4 orphans book I guaranteed that you will luv this one too!!. It's worth your penny. Although Raven character stole my heart away in her series but not this time. In this new series she is too trusting to strangers that theirs pocket money were stolen by this hitch-hiker name Sunshine. If only she listen to brilliant Crystal, things would turn up better. So folks to know more about it, go down to your nearest bookstore and grab this book. It's excellent!!.
Rating: Summary: One of the best!! Review: I liked this book a whole lot and I think it makes the perfect conclusion to the ORPHANS series. I encourage you to read this book and the other ones in this series if you haven't already. I hope you enjoy it!!
Rating: Summary: Disappointing in plot and presentation Review: I had hoped this book would be done in alternating points of view from all four girls (like If There Be Thorns). Instead, Brooke is our narrator, and the reader is limited to her perceptions. The other three girls become typecast by their personalities (the wimp, the brain, the troublemaker) and we lose the intimacy we had with them in their books. Also, I hope the plot was meant to show that runaways are on a one-way street to nowhere, because that's how I felt while reading it. Not the thrilling finale I was hoping for.
Rating: Summary: An exciting adventure with Runaways! Review: The book was completed with first two pages stepback colorful illustration.. the book started three years later, after the book raven ended... all four girls all grown up to be sensible young women... they never cease to bring us laughter and tear as they are on the road to discover about themselves.... i would put a rating of TWO THUMBS UP!
Rating: Summary: This book is Great!!!!!!!!! Review: I loved this book. If you liked the rest of the series you will love this one too. (Maybe as much as me.)
Rating: Summary: Fun and Hilarious Review: Forget "Thelma and Louise"! These girls really put adventure in this V.C. Andrews novel. They took home, to a lot of people on their journey to California. Well, their attempted journey.
That's too bad that the Tooley's were lying, greedy people. Seriously, if Ms. Tooley wanted money, she quit should have the foster home bussiness, and got a JOB!!! Hello! Read this book with your favorite snack and beverage, in a comfortable place. Because you won't want to put this book down.
These girls are smart and fearless. "Dorothy" and all her "imaginary friends" can't beat them! Haaeeey!!!
Rating: Summary: Great End to a Mediorce Series Review: Runaways is the fifth novel in the Orphans series, and the only full length one. It is narrated by Brooke. The girls have become friends after arriving very close in time to each other at the once upon a time resort turned foster home run by Louis and Gordon Tooey. Gordon, however, is a monster, sort of a Uncle Reubenesqe figure. All of the girls live in fear of him. So, they come up with a plan to escape, with involves stealing the station wagon owned by Gordon and Louise, which they later find cocaine beneath the seat of. On the way to California to look for Brooke's absentee mother, they are robbed by a fellow runaway and Brooke and Raven fall in love, one with a decent guy. There is a pregnancy scare and in the end, Gordon gets them. They manage to run away again, and this time, they run out of gas on an Indian reservation and finally get some help, and even a home for Butterfly. This book was really good. It really made me like the rest of the series, despite the metaphors and dialogue that didn't seem even close to realistic. There is something about the four girls that makes them human and worth reading about, that the Wildflowers series didn't have. Maybe they just needed a station wagon. Anyway, give this a go. And if you like it, try and read the four girls stories.
