Rating: Summary: It Is Time To Let VC Andrews Rest In Peace Review: I first read the "Flowers In The Attic" saga over ten years ago, and have reread it many, many times since. This series, and the start of the "Heaven" series, was wonderful - the story lines were original and intriguing; the characters complex and believable. Unfortunately, as many readers know, VC Andrews passed away before completing the "Heaven" saga. Since then, several series of books have been published bearing the author's name - but that is where the similarity ends. The unidentified writer that has been cranking these novels out does his or her best to imitate the flowery writing of Andrews' work (and that's not all that is imitated - there is a scene in one of the "Dawn" books that is copied, WORD FOR WORD, from Cathy and Chris's first sexual experience in "Flowers". I kid you not - compare the two books!), but does not come close to creating the kind of absorbing, fascinating stories that Ms. Andrews wrote. The characters we are now presented with are completely two dimensional. You have your "good guys" and your "bad guys", who are clearly identified from Page One, and never, ever give us a glimpse at any other facet of their personalities. The same plot elements are repeated in every book - young girl is orphaned or abandoned, sent to live with cold hearted guardian, falls in love with brother/cousin/uncle. Anyone who has read one of these series can easily predict the outcome of the next. I don't mean to criticize the writer of these books so much as the idea that VC Andrew's talent could be duplicated by simply following a formula. It can't. Please, stop trying.
Rating: Summary: too unrealistic and un- V.C. Andrews Review: This book was alright, but this miniseries thing is just too not V.C. Andrews, and what these girls go through just would not happen. Had V.C. Andrews herself been alive, she would not write any miniseries at all. They are too short and not worth the effort of writing. The best books were the Flowers in the Attic series, the Heaven series, and My Sweet Audrina. This ghostwriter should either go by his/her own name or write in a more V.C. Andrews style.
Rating: Summary: This is a great book. Review: This is a wonderful book. It has everything you want in a book. "We are sisters we will always be sisters".Is what the girls would chant to get Butterfly(Janet) out of her trance. The girls, Crystel, Raven, Brookie, and Butterfly. Brookie was the leader, and Butterfly's protector. I recommend that if you like to read books that have everything in them, this is the book you want.

Rating: Summary: Good but not Great! Review: My overall impression of the book was: Good but not Fantastic. It was well-written and easy to read. The story was very predictable, but at the same time enjoyable. The four girls share a bond between them that makes the reader become very interested in their lives and all the things that happen to them. Some of their adventures are a little far-fetched and corny. The girls have been through some hard times together, yet everything always seems to turn out O.K.
Rating: Summary: way too unrealistic Review: I must admit that many parts of this book were quit entertaining, while others were just corny and just plainly stupid. Like one part, Crystal, an orphan suffering often from some kind of nervous breakdown, the friends get together in a circle and recite some chant to get her out of her trance saying stuff like "we are sisters, we can do this, your problem is all our problems" and so forth. I also found that the orphans were to different to realistically be that good of friends with eachother, each one had nothing in common. I also thought that they just did not reflect enough on the average foster child. The writer obviously does not have much experience with being abandoned and should not be writing books of this nature.
Rating: Summary: V.C. ANDREWS IS THE BEST!! Review: I have not yet read runaways but have read the 4 previous books and all her other releases.Although it may intreset some people to know that I am 11 years old I have been told that I am a very mature reader for my age.All of Virginia Andrew's books are incredibly thrilling and my first Virginia Andrew's novel was Flower's in the Attic and I couldn't put it down. When I read that it was a true story I nearly fainted. What kind of a mother could do such things to children was absolutely amazing and not in a good way.But what really struck me was her book My Sweet Audrina. If it's story was true what sort of parents would do such a thing to their daughter is beyond me. I would recommend all of Virginia Andrews books to anyone who likes drama filled"horror"stories.
Rating: Summary: Unworthy of VC Andrews Review: What was the deal with that Butterfly girl? Am I the only one who hated each and every character? If you want to read real VC Andrews books- go get My Sweet Audrina, The Flower in the Attic series and Heaven- or re-read those. Otherwise don't bother. And why do all the the characters in all the books have this wacked ideal of california?
Rating: Summary: FINGERNAILS ON A CHALKBOARD!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: I have to agree with Paintball. I used to like V.C. Andrews' novels, but since Andrews' death and the assumption of her role by ghost-writers, there has been a steady decline in the quality of her novels, they have become more and more soap-opera-like, more trashy and whining. It makes me want to scream, it really does. Perhaps these novels should be geared towards a Junior-High age group; maybe I'M reading the wrong material, but I think the best thing to do is let poor V C Andrews rest in peace. PLEASE!
Rating: Summary: THE WORST BOOK IN HISTORY 1 STAR BELOW A MILLION!!!!!!!!! Review: I almost gave up on reading all together. PLEASE STOP RUINNING V.C.ANDREWS GOOD NAME!!!She was one of the best Authors of her time, so please if you are going to keep writing under her name please do it as she would. PLEASE!
