Rating: Summary: Run, Orphans, Run. Run like the wind. Review: I really didn't care that much for this book. First of all, Raven really bothered me because she was the typical V.C. Andrews exotic beauty. And of course we're told how savvy she is, yet she does all kinds of stupid things. Brooke falls in love with a guy and then gets to second base (she's got that baseball thing down) with him after knowing him a whole day. The name "orphanteers" is lame. Their chant is lame. Butterfly was interesting enough, though. Crystal's dialogue was basically a rehash from her individual book (she recites everything said on the night she found out her foster parents died, like she would even remember every word when she didn't even know what was going on when it was said.) I noticed a difference between the real V.C. and the GW. V.C. Andrews' characters not only had more depth, they understood that others had suffered as much as they had. GW's characters feel that they have some sort of monopoly on suffering and that every one else does the Macarena through life. Anyway, these poor girls, who know so much about how rotten human nature really is, keep picking up hitchhikers, even after their bad experience with one. They do a lot of stupid things. Gordon Tooey had no depth. He was just a demonized villain. I almost died from boredom during the last couple of chapters. Glad I'm done!
Rating: Summary: Run,run, as fast as you can or else Gordon will get you. Review: Brooke,Raven,Butterfly,&Crystal are four teenage Foster sisters. They live together in a run down house in New York. Their foster parents, Louise& Gordon, Are definately not the kind of people you would expect to run an orphanage. Nonetheless here they are with unwanted childeren. Now unlike some oprphanages these one slave drives their childeren. Endless work until the day is done and they can return to their pitiful rooms. These four girls however are sick of looking at their walls' peeling wallpaper and Gordon's face. So Brooke, the leader, decides they need a permanent vacation. Now on the lamb, wanted by cops, out of money, and out of gas, these girls are only runing on fumes as they head for California.... but with Gordon hot on their trail will they make it, or will they be forced to go back and live in fear of Gordon's punishments. This bok is the best book I've ever read. When you read this book you'll realize that life isn't always a piece of cake. And the ones you love can drive you crazy and out of your mind, but in the end you know it was all worth your while.
Rating: Summary: Runaways Review: Butterfly, Crystal, Brooke, and Raven are back in the full-length novel Runaways by V.C. Andrews. These four girls are best friends; well more like sisters. They live in a foster home in New York. The foster home was once a tourist home. Now it’s run down and old. It’s not the best place for Gordon and Louise to run a foster home, but then again Gordon and Louise aren’t exactly fit for the job. The four girls want out. For two reasons, they can’t stand their living conditions or Gordon and time is running out for them to be adopted. So Brooke, the one who is telling the story comes up with the idea to run away to California. The reason it’s California, is so she can find her real mom, Crystal can become a doctor, and Raven and Butterfly can get their big brake as singers. They all agree. They decide to steal Gordon’s car and make up a phony map to send Gordon on a wild goose chase. On the way to California they meet many new people. It’s a novel filled with romance, adventure, and surprises. The final question is does Gordon find them or do they make it to California? Well to find out you have to read this book I promises you won’t be disappointed. I know I wasn’t. May I suggest one last thing? It is that you read Butterfly, Crystal, Brooke and Raven so you can fully understand each girl and their past.
Rating: Summary: best book in the universe! Review: This is definately one of the best books ive read. I read all the orphan series, Brooke, Raven Butterly and Crystal, and I thought they were good! This book was much better because it was all of them rolled into one! Thanks very much for writing such good enjoyable books Virginia!
Rating: Summary: Runaways Review: When my grandmother loaned me this book, I expected something very different than what I got. For the better. As a teenager, I can relate to the girls in the story. However, I found one minor flaw; it was a little unrealistic. But I enjoyed reading it, and I intend to read the rest of the books in the series.
Rating: Summary: ORPHANEERS Review: I LOVE ALL OF V.C.ANDREWS BOOKS, EVEN THE ONES THAT THE GHOSTWRITER MAKE. THIS IS A GOOD BOOK TO READ IF YOU ARE WONDERING ABOUT V.C. ANDREWS BOOKS. ( FRIST READ BUTTTERFLY,CRYSTAL......)
Rating: Summary: Not The Best, But Good Review: This book is not the best. If you really want something good, go to the Flowers in the Attic, Heaven, Melody, or Ruby series. Those were the best, along with My Sweet Audrina. I mean, the new stuff from this ghost writer is dropping quality wise. The older stuff from the ghost writer was okay, but oh well. Ya can't have everything. Email me, because I really like getting email that's not junk... We can chat about V.C. Andrews or something...
Rating: Summary: My favourite book of V C Andrews Review: I really enjoyed this book. If you start reading it, you can't stop till the end. It was interesting to learn about each of these characters and during the novel, you really feel like you would be one of them. The 4 orphans are really good at dealing with such a difficult situation. They run away without knowing where to drive. They steal a car and manage to live with only little money. It was very impressing! I recommend this book to everyone who likes VC Andrews. PS: Does somebody know if this book also exist as a film? Please mail me if you know more about it: Piisch@unicum.de
Rating: Summary: Runaways Review: I thought this book was pretty good. I liked how they stuck by each other no matter what happened. They overcame many hardships. I liked how this book brought all the books and the characters together to come to a pleasant ending. It was also neat how in the epilogue it kind told about what they were doing a few years later. I also really liked how this one wasn't leaning toward a romance novel like a lot of her stories.
Rating: Summary: Runaways Review: Runaways,by V.C Andrews, was a very interesting book because; it dealed with real life information, it was exciting, and it teaches a good lesson. Runaways was about four girls who felt very unwanted. They lived in a foster home with Gordon and Louise Tooley. Gordon was very rude and mean to the girls. Louise ruined every chance the girls had to be adopted, she would tell lies to every one who tried to adopted them. They finaly got tired of it and decided to runaway. They made plans to go to California. They put there money together and they had about 3,000 dollars all together. They stole Gordon's car and headed south. Brooke decided that they would sleep in the car to save money. They found an old abanded road and decided to rest there. In the middle of the night Brooke was awoke by a light. Brooke woke up Crystal and told her to look. It was an old man who lived in the house at the end of the road. The kind man told them they could stay at his house with his wife they all agreed. They went inside and the old lady was very pleased to see them, they stayed there for two days and then they were on the road agian. Whille on there way they saw a girl standing on the road hitchicking, they stoped and picked her up. Her name was Sunshine, She was very nice to the girls. She had fake credit cards so she got them a hotel. when Brooke woke up the next morning she noticed there money was gone. Sunshine had stolen it. They had no money for gas or food. Raven made a suggestion that they get a short job to make some money. So they went to this cafe and asked the women if she neede help and she said "yes". She let them stay in a littli caben behind the cafe. The
