Rating: Summary: A Great Read - You'll Enjoy! Review: "Lord of the vampires" is the last of the trilogy of "The Diaries of the Family Dracul". The first book is "Covenant With the Vampire" and the second is "Children of the Vampire. The reason I mentioned the other novels is because they really should be read before reading this one. All are highly engrossing and interesting. How Ms Kalogridis thought up all this is beyond me - but she is obviously talented. Although all the books are wonderful reads - be prepared - there are strange situations in the books - among them are incest and homosexuality. The books don't go into to much "intimate" details on these subjects - and they're not something that carries on into the complete story. So the squeamish should tolerate them just fine. Therefore, I would advise anyone who likes vampire novels to purchase all three of them.

Rating: Summary: excellent series of books Review: After hearing on of the books on tape, I just had to get the other two. Although they were out of sequence, they were still very enjoyable. She has a great mix of horror and erotism. Some scenes are downright scary. I highly recommend all her books
Rating: Summary: Somewhat disappointed in this one Review: After reading the first two installments of this trilogy, I just knew Kalogridis would blow me away with the final book. Not so. I liked the way she incorporated Bram Stoker's Dracula into the story, but the ending was nothing like I expected.
Rating: Summary: Lord of the Vampires Review: For the past decade, Abraham Van Helsing has lived to carry out his obsession; his need is to rid the world of vampires. By 1893 in Amsterdam, Bram realizes that the time to revenge his family for the atrocities committed on them by Vlad the Impaler, better known as Count Dracula, and several of his minion are at hand. Bram knows he will need help when he goes to England to confront Dracula, who has previously turned Bram's father and aunt into creatures of the night. Bram enlists the aid of Dr. John Seward (the son he gave up for adoption years ago) and several of Seward's friends in his quest to end the four hundred year reign of terror of Count Dracula. He locates Dracula, his aunt, and the very powerful Countess Elisabeth and shockingly defeats the powerful count. However, his victory is not savored long because all does not turn out well in Bram's world. He now knows that Dracula was a minion of a more powerful Dark Lord, an evil he may have to sell his soul in order to defeat. It seems he must now confront a greater malevolence, the teacher who taught him the art of vampire killing, if the world is to rid itself of much of the evil that resides on it. The third book in the "Diaries of the Family Dracul" trilogy is the best of this exciting series because it so closely aligns itself to the original vampire lore and further explains Stoker's legendary tale. Vampirophyles will relish Lord of the Vampires. If a bloodsucking sexy novel is your drink, it is strongly recommended that you read the entire series, but especially this book.
Rating: Summary: A childish and ill-thought out book Review: I have only read one book in this series, that relating to Bram Stoker's Dracula, and that was more than enough. I am at a loss as to how the other reviewers could praise it so highly. The plot line which follows Stoker's Dracula was laughable, it was so unbelievale, the characters retained nothing of their original form and the ending was so ludicrous it left me annoyed that I had wasted my time in reading to the end. If you like pulp Vampire fiction with pretensions at being literary then buy this, if you want a decent vampire tale, then avoid it at all costs.
Rating: Summary: WONDERFUL!!!!couldnt get enough.read them all twice. Review: I loved the way she gave the different views or the different characters by putting them in diary form.I felt like i was there fighting vlad right beside Bram.I also love the ending.BEAUTIFUL!Wished it didnt have to stop there.
Rating: Summary: A tour de Force of what Bram Stoker started. Review: I thought "Dracula" was the consummate vampire saga, so the idea of a "prequel" was suspect. I was not disappointed.
This is the final book of a trilogy that left me wishing
that Kalogridis had started her tale even further back in
the Dracul family tree. I was stunned and excited by the
atrocious and erotic scenes so vividly woven through these
books. From the evil of Vlad, the impaler, to the good
of Dr. Van Helsing, the author has animated characters of
depth and substance, while creating a most frightening story
of pure fiction, pure legend and actual historical facts.
Rating: Summary: Anne Rice..watch out!! Review: I was worried about a prequel dealing with Bram Stoker's version...which was laking compared to Anne Rice's novels. But Kalogridis has done one heck of a story here. She's a close second to Anne Rice. All around great trilogy.
Rating: Summary: This entry to the Trilogy was also a work of art! Review: I've read this book and the others in this trilogy about 2 years ago. They were ALL put together extremely well. As you read further into the novels, each character seemed to appear so real. The story line of each book, followed the tale of Dracula to its extreme. I can't say enough GOOD things about these books. I just wish she would write more like them.
