Rating: Summary: Disappointed.... Review: Every year I look forward to reading the new Jonathan Kellerman book. This year's book was a disappointment. The characters of Alex and Milo seemed flat... Usually, I pick up a Kellerman book and I can't put it down...I had no problem putting this book down. My sister borrowed the book and was glad she hadn't purchased it... Maybe Kellerman is bored with the characters of Alex and Milo...Billy Straight was a much better book...
Rating: Summary: Monster Was A Little Tame Review: I really like Jonathon Kellerman's books. This one was very good but not quite up to the Kellerman standard. There was a lot more emphasis on Alex Deleware and not enough on Milo and the police process. Deleware is supposed to be a consultant to the police (or at least to Milo) but here he takes over the action and Milo doesn't get time to delelop as a character. It was an "almost" great Kellerman novel. I'm sure not complaining but I like the interaction between Milo and Deleware. Also, Milo's partner was not to be seen.
Rating: Summary: Disappointed Fan Review: As a loyal J.K. fan, I was disappointed with Monster's slow pace and predictable ending. I was hoping it would be a gripping page-turner like Billy Straight. Although well-written, the main character was unsympathetic and most of the story took place in the same setting - a dreary mental institution. However, I haven't given up on Alex Delaware - better luck next time!
Rating: Summary: fast paced and absorbing Review: This was my first but not my last Mr. Kellerman novel. The plot was gripping and not far-fetched but frighteningly real and absorbing, a real page turner. I will seek out the Dr Deleware past novels to catch up. Buy it; read it.
Rating: Summary: Monster - Classic Kellerman Review: Kellerman continues to entertain Alex Delaware fans with his latest - "Monster". I must confess that half way through the novel I guessed the innocence of the monster. However, the book continues to twist and surprise the reader.I recommend it to all Delaware followers. Looking eagerly to the next Milo and Alex series.
Rating: Summary: CHEATED! Review: I was eagerly anticipaing J.K. latest release only to be disappointed by a far fetched plot that did nothing to keep my attention. As a faithful fan, I vow to finish the last 35 pages (if I can manage to keep awake!). I will, however, give him another chance as I have up to now always enjoyed his books. I will just have to believe he was just having a "bad book day".
Rating: Summary: Simply the Best Review: Dr. Jonathan Kellerman proves once again that he is simply the best at what he does. This is powerful, absorbing, chilling and responsible fiction of the highest order, befitting a man who is both a brilliant storyteller and a trained and thoughtful psychologist. My hat is off....
Rating: Summary: Alex Delaware is still in great form! Review: I have loved every Alex Delaware book so far, and this one is no exception. I can agree with other reviewers that this one goes into psychological deduction a little bit more than the others, but I don't find that to be a drawback. The story is exciting and taut, the characters are as alive as ever -- Jonathan Kellerman is an absolute master at this genre, and I don't think this novel withdraws from that reputation in any way at all. Highly, highly recommended!
Rating: Summary: Kellerman - Dr. Alex Delaware - What can I say? Review: I thoroughly enjoyed Jonathan Kellerman's newest offering, "Monster". I may be biased in that I have been addicted to the Alex Delaware series from day one, however I found this storyline to be extremely interesting. Oddly, I found myself feeling much the same emotionally as when I saw "King Kong" or even "Frankenstein". The only regret regarding this book is that there was not enough of Alex's love, Robin or Det. Milo Sturgis. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Monstrous disappointment (unabridged audio version) Review: Loved Billy Straight and all JK's books except for Monster. I felt cheated about half way through but clenched my teeth and got through it. I have noticed that online reviews of this book are either very good or very bad. What's up with that? Sorry to give a negative review and intend to give JK another chance.
